Samuel Dalembert Free Agency

My guess is that he can be had for a reasonable price tag this summer, and he is the type of Center that the Jazz need (i.e., one who can score when called upon, but is primarily defensive minded).

Check him out in tonights game against the Lakers.

Nooooooooo

Never been a fan and we don't need another injury ridden big man to sit behind our already stacked front court.

If we were a playoff team in need of a 2nd string bigman I would consider it. He isn't going to add much to the win total of a team like the Jazz, so why take time away from Rooks who we need to develop?

I'd rather keep Fes.

Memo may be gone for good, and having versatility at the 4-5 with an arsenal of players who have a different style of play, can give you great combinations to throw at teams. That was Sloan's greatest strength, but Corbin may not know how to use that level of flexibility to his advantage.

Don't think we could get him even if we wanted him. Some team will overpay for him (Knicks).

Dalembert hangs his hat on his defense/rebounding which is the kind of center I'd like to see the Jazz get. But Jefferson's offense is more of a game changer than what Dalembert offers in those categories.

I'm think that Al Jefferson and Dalembert give us a better version, of the same favorable combination of Cousins and Dalembert. Cousins is all about scoring, and he seems to get burned sometime on his defense, but Dalembert is often there to save him.

When Cousin's scores in the high 20s, which Jefferson is certainly capable of, then the Kings are capable of a high level of play. And when Cousins is having a bad night, then Dalembert is capable of scoring in the high teens to low 20s, which is a new dimension that the Jazz have never experienced before (i.e., a defensive center that can score when called upon).

So we're hoping our front court will be as good as DeMarcus Cousins and Samuel Dalembert?

Let's not set our sights too high now.

A lot of people look for home runs in free agency, but there are certainly lower profile ones that make us better (i.e. Howard Eisley). Dalembert is an asset if acquired at the right price.

Players like this used to be the Jazz's bread and butter.

Yes if he will come extremely cheap (unlikely) and he agrees to play backup center (unlikely).

Why would he have to be "extremely cheap." That is just being ridiculous.

You don't go from a max player one year, to a vet minimum the next, if your still playing pretty decent.

Dalembert is probably going to sign for a little less than Kirilenko. I would hope around the mid-level exception range.
