Knight or Fredette?
Assume these 2 are the only two players available to the Jazz. Which would you take? Which do you think Jazz management would take?

Knight by a little, but I think it's closer than people think.

Honestly I go with Fredette. They both seem like role players, I'd at least have the more deadly one. Knight doesn't seem like a franchise PG, and we already have a pretty darn good backup PG.

Re: Knight or Fredette?
Well, seems to be some difference of opinion here. I like Jimmer a bit for #12. But, not in the least for #6. Frankly, I'd hope someone takes him above the Jazz. I see him as a career backup PG. Not what I'd hope for from our top pick.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Neither Knight or Jimmer have the athleticism, ball handling, or decision making to be starters. Knight has more defensive potential and is younger so he is the better prospect, but both will have to turn themselves into JJ Redick type players in the NBA to succeed.

I'd be happy with JJ Redick at 12.

Knight at 6 for sure, and I'm a huge Jimmer fan. No way Knight would be there at 12 though, so assuming we have the pick, and if we didn't get a guard with the #6, I would love to see them take Jimmer at #12.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Cant pick Jimmer at 6th but love him at 12th. Knight gone by 12th so do we pick Knight at 6th. I say pick someone else at 6th and hope Jimmer is available at 12th.
As to who will be a better player, clearly Knight has more upside and is a true PG while Jimmer is a good backup. Jimmer can shoot so he will stay in the league a long time. Knight could be a bust and be out of the league in 4-5 years. Close call but the Jazz need outside shooting and fans in the stands so Jimmer is the pick.

Re: Knight or Fredette?
At 6, Knight no question, and he may not even be there. I think he is going to be a very good player. He's got all the skills, I just don't think he's put it all together yet, but he's a freshman playing with a team that took a big hit early, and didn't have much experience around him, and still made it to the final 4 as clearly the best player on his team.
At 12 I'd rather get a guy with some size that has a potential to be something more than a back up PG which I think is Jimmer's ceiling. I want a guy who can do several things on the floor, including defend. You just can't have horrific defenders like Jimmer on your team. For Jimmer to be effective he is going to need to be able to get shots up, and the only way he can do that is with floor time, and you just can't afford to have that terrible of a defender on the floor for long periods of time, especially at the PG position which is the deepest in the league right now.

Re: Knight or Fredette?
Im a little surprised how down some of you are on the Jimmer. I was not sold on him until this season. He will a good NBA player though likely a 6th-7th man that can provide a spark off the bench. He will also draw some fans to the arena. I find it hard to see the Jazz passing on him at 12 unless they trade up to get the Duke PG. Jimmer is a good pick for the Jazz as he provides a need of outside shooting while he is a player thats wants to play in Utah which is not true for most players.

I'm so tired of this "he'll draw fans to the arena" argument. It's not like ESA is empty.
You know what draws fans? Winning.

It is a perplexing argument. We're not the Atlanta Hawks.
