Brandon Knight and 3 2nd round draft picks!

I like Davis Bertans and Robin Benzing better then Jan Vesley and Jonas Valanciunas, they are better ball handlers and shooters, so my idea is...

#6 draft Brandon Knight

#12 trade to Los Angeles Lakers for their 4 2nd round picks (41st, 46th, 56th and 58th picks) and cash.

Turn around and trade the 56th and 58th pick for an earlier 2nd round pick like Miami (31st) since they only have one pick in this draft and they have to put cheap players around their big 3.

#31 draft Davis Betrans F (6'10", 225 lbs.) - deadly shooter, great passer, and can battle Benzing for our 3 spot.

#36 draft Jimmy Butler G/F (6'7", 215 lbs.) - a longer, taller version of Wesley Matthews, does everything good but doesn't have a great strength, coincedence coming out of Marquette.

#46 draft Robin Benzing F (6'11", 230 lbs.) - good shooter, high basketball iq, and great ball handler.

If any of the 2nd round picks don't pan out they don't have guaranteed contracts so we could release them. This way we get longer, better shooters, and find a diamond in the rough like Houston did a couple years ago when they traded around for 3 or 4 2nd round picks and one of them turned into a pretty good player, Chase Budinger.

Brandon Knight can be our future point and get some experience behind Devin Harris.

Thoughts?

Would rather draft at 12 and trade CJ and Bell for some other picks.

Never cared for the scattershot approach. Find the talent and draft the appropriate player. Personally, I like Reggie Jackson and Chris Singleton, who won't be there in the second. I actually wouldn't mind trading the sixth pick, as I'm not sold on any of the guys projected to go from 4-10.

Ultimately, I would most like to trade up for Williams.

Not a great idea.

At #12 there will a few quality players that will be good.

You have to get lucky to get a good second rounder.

I'm happy with the 6 and 12. If a situation comes up to trade up for Kyrie or Derrick, I'm game for that too.

Utah's already a pretty young team. There will be 5 players with less than two year's experience on the roster next season.

Detroits 7th and BG for milsap or favors. Use 6th, 7th, and 12th plus harris to get irving.

I would rather take quality over quantity.

Agreed. I would say at these picks we get a couple of atheltic big men. I like Motiejunas, but not completely sold on him because of character issues. I really like terrance jones. I believe that knight will be taken by Sacramento at 5 so they can pair him up with evans. And if nolan smith falls far enough i say we take him however way we can.

Don't disagree, was more of a idea. you guys do have ridculous amount of bigs on your team and only so many minutes. Milsap wants to play PF, and favors/jefferson/okur/draft pick will be taking up those minutes. Was just a idea. or we'll just draft byumbo or Kanter. Either way, we both rebuilding.
We got rip/BG/bynum/stuckey if you want any of our "elite" guards. ha ha

Who says Millsap wants to play PF? He said he didn't want to make any changes until the offseason, but he seems open to looking at play SF.

in the article on UTAH webiste, he says he'd rather play pf. he wants to bang, and the coach said that he thinks its his natural position and as well as he'll have time at the 3. Millsap is saying he wants the PF spot, and if his stats start falling because they keep him at the 3 spot. UTH's going to have an minutes and players issue. Its just fact. Not to mention you still have okur and jefferson who want to play and more than likely drafting another big with all your picks

Utah can get more for Millsap. His contract is awesome, and a lot of teams could find a spot for him. I'm starting to lean more to the idea of trading him, but I want something good in return. The problem is, you're giving up 2 good ball players and 3 picks for one guy that will be good, but not necessarily amazing. Huge risk, and the Jazz don't need to take a huge risk right now.

Trading down into the second round just doesn't work in the NBA draft.

It might work in the NFL where you can hit all-stars regularly outside of the first round but it just doesn't work like that in the NBA where the all-star caliber talent is limited.
