Suppose Williams falls to 3

Suppose Minnesota takes kanter at 2, and Derrick Williams fallsninto our laps at 3.
Would you consider a millsap and the 12 pick to Cleveland for the #4 pick and Brandon knight? Cleveland gets a bug to play next to kyrie, they get an additional lottery pick, and we get our pg, plus we replace millsap with another big.
Would you do it? Would Cleveland?

Trade Milsap and #12 for #4?
Jazz probably say yes and Cleveland may too.

It would depend on if Cleveland thinks hickson is the answer or if they are looking to improve the spot.

It would be iffy, but I think the likelihood of Kanter rising above Williams is pretty high. Right now those three and Valancianus are the clear top four to me with Knight close on their heels if he clears up some concerns about his athleticism.

thats a dream come true! I love Sap but we are going to give the keys to Favors at some point.

I'm not high on Knight at all, I wouldn't trade Millsap for him. I would probably try to trade Williams for a SG/SF/PG prospect picked in 2009, 2010, or 2008.

millsap is proven. i don't think favors really is yet. but okur should be back by next season too. so i don't think i have strong opinion one way or the other. definitely an intriguing thought, though.

I don't see that as a good return for the Jazz. Take Reggie Jackson at 12 instead. Millsap can be moved at the right time for the right player down the road a bit.

Minn GM is stupid enough to pass on Williams. Hoopshype has also stated that KOC loves Knight so I could see it happening. MInn says they want veterans so Millsap, Bell, and #12 for #2 makes the most sense the Jazz draft Williams and Knight at 2 and 3. I wouldnt be surprised if Minn did the #2 pick for Millsap and Bell witht he Jazz keeping the #12 pick. Jazz then draft Williams, Knight, and Jimmer.

I'd do this in a heartbeat TBH, which is why I don't think Cleveland does this.
We would make out like bandits getting WIlliams and Knight from this draft. Plus we move Millsap who doesn't want to come off the bench and that lets Favors start next year without a doubt.

i don't think Millsaps worth 8 picks to cleveland. Be pretty sweet though

I think Minnesota trades out of the pick and someone else grabs Williams at No.2 . Could be us, who knows.
Or Minnesota proves to be crazy again and takes Williams at No.2 who is pretty much exactly what they already have in Beasley. You never know with the T-Wolves.

I think that you are probably right, and that somebody else ends up with Williams at the #2 spot, some random team like Orlando that gives up whatever it has left to try to put something around Dwight to convince him to stay.
Portland also always seems to find themselves in the middle of everything and they certainly have some intriguing pieces.
Who knows, Minnesota is such a **** organization. I feel bad for their fans.

it wouldn't necessarily be stupid. minnesota is loaded at the 3 and 4. it seems like kanter may see his stock rise significantly during workouts and he is the type of player minnesota desperately needs.
what would be stupid is drafting both knight and jimmer.

As much as I love Millsap I would move him for another top 5 pick. Even if we didn't get Knight we could still get Kemba Walker or someone else of our choosing.

Can't say I disagree completely, but look ast utahs roster.. We have no 2's, and no back up 1's. Both Knight and Jimmer are considered combo guards, fills out our guard spots with talented youth. Seems to be an option at least. i think as it stands now knight is our man assuming irving and dwil go 1-2... but wouldnt it b great to see minn draft kanter, then we draft williams amd give him number 8 to appease those that forked out the money for that jersey already

I think we can get more out of Millsap. I'd rather use him as trade bait in next year's loaded draft - I'm not convinced B Knight's going to be that amazing, though I do like him as a prospect.
Derrick Williams says he considers himself a SF, by the way.

We all want more picks next year but Millsap won't have the same value as he does right now by this time next season.

I don't know man, do you guys really need another big man? You guys have like the best frontcourt in the nba... I think if the Jazz cannot make any trades whether to open up a spot for Williams or to trade with Minnesota to get number 2, then I think it may just end up going
1. Irving
2. Bismack Biyombo/Enes Kanter
3. Knight or Walker
4. Derrick Williams
If Minnesota does not make a trade there is a chance this may happen...

Actually, the Jazz have room for Williams. As of right now we've got CJ Miles as our SF. And I suppose Jeremy Evans, and maybe Hayward. But we also don't have a SG so Hayward and Miles would spend time there. There is more than enough room for him at the 3. Unless the Jazz really do attempt to have Paul play the 3, which I don't think will be successful.
