There is talk of a Bogut for #2. Would you do Bogut for #3?????

No way I'd trade Big Al, #3 AND #12 for Bogut. Maybe Big Al, #3 for Bogut and #10.(Or whatever pick they have)

That's a false choice. The Jazz aren't projected to get Derrick Williams at 3.

With Favors and Bogut the Jazz would have the makings of an elite frontcourt on both ends of the floor.

Bogut struggled to get on the court the last few years (we dont need another injury prone big) and there has been issues with the management of his elbow. Al played all games this year and is younger than Andrew. Yeah we need a more defensive minded big, but I don't think throwing away the best pick we have had in years is the way to go.

Yes we are. Bogut is good when healthy, but Al isn't exactly a scrub either, and we're packaging a pick that has the potential to be very good. Either Valanciunas or Kanter could turn into Bogut type players.

I want to see Al in year two personally.

Did anybody actually see Bogut play last year? His elbow injury seriously affected him, he might never regain the form he had before that injury...... He isn't worth the 3rd pick, much less Jefferson AND that pick........

The dream scenario on the Bucks board currently is:

Bogut for Okur, 3, and 12. With the Bucks maybe adding something like Luc Richard Mbah a Moute in a Sign and Trade

Jennings for Calderon and 5

3: Kanter
5: Knight
10: Burks
12: Morris
40: Honeycutt

Go into next year with

Also, yes Bogut's arm was wrecked last year, but even with a wrecked arm he anchored one of the best Defenses in the league.

He had the second best Drating last year and the third best Drating this year.

I have no idea how your big rotation looks and how high you guys our on Favors and Milsap though.

I'm a big believer in Orating/Drating differential, and the Jazz had a differential of -2. That's usually good for about 35 wins. The Jazz got up to 39 which is the high end of the spectrum of overachieving. (I've never seen a difference bigger than 5 wins)

If Bogut comes in and gets your Drating down to 105 (higher than the Bucks) and the Orating stays the same, you're looking at an average of 48 wins. Keep the +4 overachieving and you're up to 52. He gets it down to 103 (like the Bucks) you're looking at 54/58 wins

Normally, I'm against teams shooting for 50 wins because they usually fail and end up with 43 and the 12th pick, but the Jazz are in a unique position. They've got young guys in Favors and Heyward, plus you could probably get that final piece to get to 60+ wins and contention in a trade with Milsap

I would love to see Bogut over here..his defense in my opinion is better than Jefferson and actually might force the Jazz system of passing to work through the PF (favors/Milsap) instead of C (Jefferson) again..

But for the #3 overall with Jefferson..? I can't see it that's very high price considering the draft history at that pick..hopefully we can find someway to figure something out...

Also just my opinion but seems like the Jazz front office has publicly supported Jefferson/Milsap/Devin Harris, I can't remember what the comment or quote was but it sounds like they are interested in shooting/big man....so unless it's a trade that works for us I don't see those guys going anywhere.
