Thanks for the link. Nice find.
I'll be honest, the more I read about Jimmer working out and the more I think about what his role could be I like the Jazz potentially taking him at 12. I still would rather take Knight at 3 over any other options (I realize I am probably in the minority there) but if they go another route I would differently not be upset with the Jimmer.
I don't think he ever starts but if he can be a combo guy off the bench ala Jason Terry fills a nice needed niche on the team. His defense or lack thereof scares me (as that is already a major team weakness) but at 12 he provides good value and fills another albeit lesser need.

I want the Jimmer at 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Im not even from Utah. He is not scared of the limelight and will embrace the media frenzy that he would create. The physical also prove that he is much more athletic then thought.

I'm not scared of Jimmer's lack of D. The league we are talking about is the NBA. I think his defense will improve as a matter of necessity. Not that it will ever need to be phenomenal. He's going to be a backup, and he has the mentality to accept that kind of role and flourish in it.
I think he's going to be an asset for any team that takes him. His shooting skill and ability to get open one-on-one are an excellent skill set to add to a championship core.

I'd follow Jimmer anywhere.

We're slowly cracking away at Bat and his mancrush for Jimmer continues to develop.

I see a lot of people saying that if we draft Knight then that means we won't draft Jimmer.
If the Jazz feel those are the best players available (and for the Jazz that includes how well they "fit" with the organization) then why shouldn't they pick them?
One concern I have with the Jazz drafting Jimmer is the weird pressure it may put on Tyrone Corbin. If Jerry were still here I wouldn't worry about the coaching staff dealing with a popular playing not getting minutes; but with this junior group of guys I think there are some ways that it could go wrong.
Would you want to be the coach that keeps Jimmer on the bench despite the fans screaming for him?

I think he would be hard to keep on the bench just from what he will bring you as a coach. This kid could save Corbins job one day just as easy. Kids a player, and fans would be happy to have him hitting 3's and being a role player.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Whatever decision Corbin makes with this kid is going to be second-guessed by the Jimmerites.

Thats what he gets paid for. Plus I think the chance for a homerun is greater than a strikeout. Either way it buys the team 1-2 yrs with new growth from ticket and merchandise sales while getting back on track.

I'm not saying it's a reason NOT to do it, or that I feel bad for Corbin. Rather I worry that faced with that kind of pressure he might make the wrong decision for the franchise.

I thought that NBA merchandise money all goes to the NBA as part of the big pool of basketball-related income.

And I still remember when everyone was killing him....everyone is jumping back on the bandwagon hahaha.
I still love him at the 12. I've said all along that he should be our target at that spot. At this rate, we might not even get the chance to take him at 12.

His stock keeps climbing the more people see him in person and he isn't disappointing at any of these workouts. he's knocking them all out.
I would honestly be surprised to see him fall to 12. I think someone takes him before the Jazz do.

There was an interview with either Rigby or Miller last week on kfan, and they were mentioning that his jersey sales would be significant and was worth taking into consideration, rivaling the jersey sales of the statues. I thought that was pretty incredible. Of course, they said it won't have that much weight on drafting him, but it is something they have talked about and considered, contrary to popular belief around here.

Well but still Jimmers faith is in our hands, im not saying to pick him with #3 but if KoC will by high on him, and i think he is, we probably try to trade down. Dealing with Kings got sens at this point we give them #3 for that #7 and next year 1 rd draft pick.

to be honest, as i love Jerry, i think that he really play bad rookies lately, ok falling to pressure to play just drafted guys is bad, but not playing them at all is not good either.

The only thing I can say about James Fredette is that I no longer would shoot myself in the face if we took him at #12. I think he can be a nice combo guy off the bench, maybe more like a bigger Jose Juan Barea, which for a late lottery pick is a decent return on investment. A Jason Terry caliber player would be close to a homerun. Terry is a borderline All Star and one of the best combo guards this league has had in the last 10 years.
But with the way his athletic numbers came out and the sense that is building around the league that he could play the PG position, I think the risk no longer ridiculously outweighs the reward. I still like Singleton much better, as well as the prospect of adding Motiejunas as a swing-for-the-fences type move. But I think we have better options. And I don't like the idea of drafting the local kid. That rarely ever pans out well. Even if the player is good.

I have heard some good things about him from completely neutral non-Utah insiders, so I will be happy at 12.

I have looked at so many different situations for the Jazz now i don't know what i want anymore. Although I think Jimmer is a great future role player in the NBA. The San Diego state coach compared him to Mark Price.
