Knight/Singleton or Kanter/Jimmer?

Now I know that there are literally hundreds of other options and options many may prefer over these 2, but I think most mocks out there have either one of these 2 scenarios playing out for the Jazz.
So I am curious as to which of the 2 you would rather see happen? Jimmer is growing on me (always loved watching him but never sure how that would translate to the Jazz) but I just am not as high as many on Kanter. So I without hesitation take Knight/Singleton. I LOVE Knight's confidence and work ethic, and just think when it comes to it Knight at 3 is still much better than Jimmer at 12. And Singleton is a Jazz wet dream. Somebody who is athletic and can truly guard 1-4 is exactly what this team needs at this point. With him and Hayward it keeps Hayward off of the best wing on defense allowing him to be better where he is best, on offense.
So let's hear it, why one or the other?

Jimmer and Kanter are intriguing, but when you can get two guys who have the potential at being great defenders at the next level, not to mention Knights ability to be a fantastic offensive player as well, I think you go Knight/Singleton.

Out of the two options, I would greatly prefer Knight/Singleton. We need a solid starting pg for the future and Knight has all the tools to be that and more. We also need a solid defender bad and Singleton can provide that. We need to look for potential starters and Jimmer is a backup, a nice backup but still not a starter. Kanter is ....... I don't know. Dont know enough about him and don't like what little I saw of him. My personal favorite tho is Knight/Hamilton.

Why do you continue to overlook Harris?
He hasn't really had a chance to show what he can do with the Jazz, but he has already proven that he can flat out play.
I don't see a PG in this draft that will be better than him, Knight may very well end up being on the same level as Harris, so my thought is it would be apples for apples.
I would rather stay with Harris who is still young, but has quality NBA experience.

Knight/Singleton.
The Kanter/Jimmer makes me puke, yeah let's draft the two worst defenders in the entire draft. Oh fun!

Kanter and Singleton is the way to go.
I think Kanter will end up being a decent defender, and has the ability to be a great defender. He has all the tools, with quality coaching he will be fine, Just his size alone will be a huge plus.

I know what harris can do, its not like he's gonna suddenly become a different player w/ a new team. Plus Harris is 28 and on a roster thats a ways a way from contending. Knight is 19. We have a long ways to go and need to go younger. Harris also isn't exactly andre miller, so I dought he holds up that well in his 30's which will be around the time we are ready to contend (if that). Trade him for somthing useful and let watson or another cheap veteran mentor Knight. I think Knight will be much better than Harris but if he does become on the same level, at least he'll still be in his early 20's by the time we are ready to make some noise.

No reason to take Jimmer just because we take Kanter. In fact, as stated above, the prospect of drafting two guys that are both potentially very weak defenders is something that could really hurt us long term. In fact, if anything, I think that drafting Knight makes it easier to go a different route than Singleton with that second pick. I like BK and think he will be a plus defender. Maybe not elite, but probably well above average. If we draft Kanter, though, we almost certainly need to get a wing stopper to groom as a replacement for AK.
If we take Knight, that's an opening to make a move for and/or take Biyombo or JV. I am really warming to Biyombo @ 12, and think there's a solid chance he makes it there. I can't imagine him going any higher than Detroit @ 8, who could also be the landing spot for JV as well. But with his type of smarts, passion, dedication and unbelievable athleticism/length, its hard to see him being anything less than a prime Ervin Johnson (the other one
http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... ser02.html and if that doesn't sound like much, look at his numbers) level of defender/rebounder.
I wouldn't mind flipping a young player like CJ Miles or taking on a smaller bad contract in order to move up 2 or 3 spots to nab him if necessary.
But staying put and taking Singleton is very appealing as well. If he had stayed healthy he might very well be a lock for the top 10, and there's a chance he could be much more than just a defender/shooter.

Jimmer is a must draft for me and Im not even from Utah...He would be great for the fan base and provide a need at outside shooting.
As to the other 3, Im ok with Kanter or Knight with Jimmer. Knight or Jimmer can start along side Harris with one of them serving as our 3rd guard. You could still possibly sign AK-47 cheaply to be a 6th/7th man.
A big no to Singleton, he can defend but cant score a lick. An extremely bad version of AK-47. Might as well spend a few extra bucks and keep AK-47. Singleton will NEVER be more than a good bench player.

It does seem that the term "weak draft" generally refers to weak offensive draft. You could definitely build up a defense that could last for the next 5 years with guys like singleton, knight and biyombo.
However,if you look at NBA champions, or most finals teams for that matter, the 5 guys you end the game with are almost always your 5 best offensive players. Defensive specialists don't stay in the game late, and if they do you have to use offensive/defensive substitution patterns, which I don't think is all that great of a strategy.

Knight and Singleton are pretty overrated defenders and Biyombo just sucks at defense right now though I think he could be a top 5 defender in the NBA.

Honestly, worrying about defensive specalist is something you do when your close to contention, were not. Backups are also somthing you worry about later once you get solid starters. If you can get specialist and backups before then, great but in the draft especially when your picking in the lottery; you go for potential starters. And many were screaming that 09 was gonna be one of the worst drafts ever (even though I didn't understand why) and then by the end of the season it was considered a really good draft. I see a lot of guys who can be major contributors to contenders in this draft, mabey not perinnial allstars or nothing like that but solid starters and role players.
Don't underestimate this draft, we can get some good pieces to the puzzle if we draft right.
