What do you guys think? Would you take Jimmer if he was available?

Pretty split opinions on this board. From what I hear Jimmer isn't an actual consideration, but others believe he would be taken at #12 if we don't take Knight at #3.
If I were the one making decisions, I wouldn't take him. I would take one of Burks/Hamilton/Singleton regardless of whether or not we took Knight at #3.
But others would take him at #12 in a heartbeat.
Will be interesting to see what the Jazz FO does Thursday.

This draft will have a ton of trades. It wouldn't surprise me to see a third of the picks in a different place than the current team slots. This night is the off season and any GM who wants to reshape a team has until Friday before lockout.

Does Scott Layden still work for the Knicks?
I sure hope the Knicks hire him back. It was be a great catch for them.

I wouldn't pick him for the Jazz and the front office are reportedly not high on him. He's not a distributor, most likely a defensive liability, probably will struggle creating his own shot versus nba level talent and probably won't be alot of open looks for him yet; so he does us no good any time soon. Will take him a while to adjust.
As for the Knicks, he would be a better pick for them because pringle's offense will give him plenty of open looks which is what he strives at. The Knicks need spot up shooter that can hit 3 point and mid range shots with good effeciency which he could provide as a rookie. He could have a Landry Fields type year (just on impact) in the Knicks offense and would be a Tim Tebow like star. Even will all that said, if you gonna move up I would think Jonas or Biyombo would be the better target if possible; spot up shooters are much easier to find then centers which is what the Knicks really need.

Rumors today were Jazz contact Twolves regarding Pick #2, Jazz make Millsap and Jefferson available in trades if they pick Kantor, and this rumor that Knicks and others want to trade up pass Utah to take The Jimmer.

What? Why would Min want Al back?. They just sent him here because he didn't fit with K Love.
More than likely any deal with Min would involve the Jazz taking goofy Koufas back

Not Jefferson to Twolves...these are
separate rumors.
1) Jazz contact Twolves about #2 pick
2) Jazz are considering trading Millsap And/or Jefferson and
3) Knicks looking to trade pass Jazz to pick Jimmer

I tell you folks are all over on Jimmer. This thread I read Jimmer will struggle to get his shot, then the same writer says the Knicks want him because their offense would give him plenty of open looks. Ok, why can't our offense do that?

The Knicks run Dantoni's offense and we run a more pass/pick & roll set.

What would the Knicks be willing to part with if Jimmer was there at 12?

Unfortunately, all their interesting players not named Landry Fields were dealt for Carmelo.

The best situations are trading up in some fashion with Minnesota, getting rid of either Millsap, Harris or Jefferson (not to Min obviously), the 12 for this year and next years GS pick for the #2 or to Toronto for the #5. Those offer two different scenarios:
If you own the #2 and the #3 you pick:
#2: Derrick Williams
#3: Brandon Knight
If you own the #3 and #5 you pick:
#3: Enes Kanter
#5: Brandon Knight
Either of those would be phenomenal for the franchise. Expect to suck for the next couple of years, we're rebuilding. No reason to keep Harris, Millsap or Jefferson if you're rebuilding.

Yeah, the Wolves traded Jefferson for a reason - he and Kevin Love couldn't co-exist effectively.
Also, I doubt Kosta Koufos is involved in a trade with Minnesota as he was dealt to Denver in the Carmelo Anthony trade.

I can't really figure out why the Knicks would want him (basketball sense-wise). How in the world would he fit along side of Melo and Amare? I can't see that threesome working out very well....I think they are going to have issues with just those two let alone someone like Jimmer who is a scorer/shooter...

He gives the Knicks a third scorer. He can hit jump shots from anywhere on the floor. When either Amare or Melo are doubled, they can swing the ball around to him for a jumper.

Obviously they think he can run the point or I don't think they'd be so fixed on trading up to get him. It seems obvious that they aren't super satisfied with Chauncey and want another option, and late in the lotto Jimmer would be the best option.
It makes sense, though I think Jimmer will just add to their problems of good offense, and horrendous defense.
