Jazz not happy with Knight

As I have researched Knight, I have finanly started warming up the idea of drafting him. He could be a regular Allstar. He is a clutch shooter and those guys (ala Memo and stockton) are born not taught.
Now theres a report that the Jazz were not happy with him, expecially bc of his decision to not work against Walker and whether he is actually a PG.
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=20190I called the pick last year with Hayward.
I am calling the Jazz pick this year as Kantor and Singleton. I would not be happy with these picks as I think these guys will be good players but in my opinion do not have star potential.
I want Knight at 3 and Jimmer at 12 while trading away Harris. If Jimmer is not available at 12 then I gamble on Montjunas

I really don't think Knight is a Jazz point guard. He's more of Westbrook than Rondo.

Thats the problem, outside of Irving and Williams, there is no one in the draft projected as star potential. Hell, even Irving and Williams aren't being hyped as a Durant or Dwight Howard kind of prospect.
I would be very happy with Kanter and Singleton. At 3 the jazz will probably just take the BPA which will be Kanter or Knight. Either way I won't complain since Memo is probably never going to be the same and regardless of how they feel about Harris, we need an upgrade from Watson.
If we take singleton, probably the best defender in the draft, it will allow us to let AK go which will open cap

It depends on what you are saying a Jazz PG is. He is a jazz man by character. He works hard, is very smart, and wants to win. Now his playing style is more like westbrook but who knows what style the Jazz are going to play? No, he would not fit well with Jerry. But the westbrook style is the PG of the future so maybe that is where Corbin will take the team. we just dont know.\
I read that article about the Jazz being unhappy with Knight and I think it is bogus. I watched KOC's interview when they asked him about it and KOC said, yeah we would like him to work out with the other guys but we dont hold it against him. I think he may have also said something about all the guys listening to their agents.
I am really tired of all the conflicting reports... Everyone speaks as if they just talked to KOC and know exactly what the jazz are going to do. The fact that all of the reports are different probably means that everyone is blowing smoke and no one knows what the jazz are going to do. THe jazz most likely dont even know what they are going to do.

The jazz will end up with either Williams or Irving in this draft. All the pieces are there to move up to 2, including reason for Minnesota to move down.
Kanter is going 3.

Hoopsworld went on Salt Lake Radio and said the Jazz guaranteed Jimmer they would draft him. They are full of crap. This Knight business likely came from the same source. The Jazz won't say anything so it has to be friend of a friend who works for a different team type info.

Walt Perrin gushed about Knight on Sports Beat. I highly doubt that they are not happy with Knight. Perrin's eyes light up when talking about his quality.
I highly doubt that the Jazz would guarantee Jimmer that they would pick him? There is no point in doing so. He is a senior and can't back out of the draft now. There is no benefit to the team by doing so. I remember hearing KOC say that they don't do that because you never know what will happen in a draft and who may slip to you.

At some point I think you have to strike while the iron is hot, and I think right now the jazz have an opportunity to really increase the talent on this team by moving up to number 2.
Minnesota has every reason to move down, and the jazz have every reason to move up, and come draft time, I don't think it will cost the jazz all that much to move up.
Kanter makes the most sense for Minnesota, and either Williams or Irving make the most sense for the jazz, so the trade makes sense for both sides, I think you have to take that chance.
As nice as the gsw pick sounds right now, you never know what that pick is going to look like next season. The cba could prevent Freshman from coming out which would make next years draft, especially in the 8-12 range very average. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, and at some point the jazz have to be active in building the team up again.
It's what they did with deron, and it benefited the organization incredibly well. When the jazz are aggressive, they almost always improve. Boozer, okur, deron, and now the deron trade are all examples of the jazz being aggressive, and IMO they've all been huge for the jazz.

Won't happen. Sure the players will make some concessions and the owners/league will get some things, but that is never happening.

Actually Stern has said in the past that he likes that idea and the NCAA has said either implement 2 years or get rid of the rule all together.
The 1 year restriction has actually made NCAA Basketball worse because of the constant turn over and created an atmosphere more likely to cheat to get 1 year recruits.

No, I understand that's what Stern wants, and I understand why he wants it. But he's not going to get it.

That is a new debate... I wouldn't mind a 2 year rule.

Take Kanter and Jimmer and every thing will by alright. About taking Kater/Singleton its ok but again Jazz will stay with no 3 point threat, plus for me its totally sure that we gonna take at least one guard.
ps. I can imagine Jazz going up but i doubt it, i may be wrong but i just dont think that we are chasing either Kyrie or Williams.

The one year rule wasn't extremely difficult to get, I think the 2 year rule would be a pretty easy sell to NBA veterans.

The one year rule was one of the main points that almost led to the lockout back in 2005. The players finally conceded after they got something in return. They came to a deal just one week before a lockout would have gone into effect. No way the players agree on a two year deal. Too restrictive, injuries can happen, and I see no way it happens. If anything I think the next age related move is allowing high schoolers back into the NBA.
