Great trade for jazz at 12?

Post#1 » by carrottop12 » Thu Jun 23, 2011 4:05 pm

The rumors are there that new York badly wants to move up in the draft, and dx basically had this response to a tweeter asking if the Knicks had the assets:

#17 and Landry fields to get into the early teens.

If this is a legit rumor, I'd be on it like stink on a monkey, this is everything the jazz need. Again, I'd throw in bell too if they wanted.

Use the 17 to take a flyer on a pg, or just see who falls.

Harris/Watson
Hayward/bell
Fields/miles
Favors/millsap
Jefferson/kanter and the 17.

Hell, I'd do that with out the pick probably.

Wow, I'd be all over that. These George Hill/Landry Fields rumors are baffling me.

Fields really cooled off after teams found out about him. I'm not sure he is as good as he looked. But, this is definitely a trade worth looking into.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

This was some writer at DX saying that the Knicks assets were #17 and Landry Fields, not the Knicks saying they were willing to trade #17 and Landry Fields.

I understand, but he said that was a potential package to move up, I hope they are that desperate.

He definitely colled off, but if he is your 7tth best player behind hayward, Harris, Jefferson, millsap, favors, #3, I think you are in good shape.

I like Fields alot but so do the Knicks. My understanding is they refuse to trade Fields for even a high pick so not going to happen.

#17 and Fields may not be enough for #12 depending on whos still there for each pick. Its a good chance that your trading 2 role players who are likely to come off the bench for us in exchange for a potentially solid starter. If were sitting there at #12 with someone like Hamilton, Jonas or Biyombo still on the board, it wouldn't want to risk them being taking before the #17 pick.
