It's pretty obvious Elison is gone, And it looks like Milsap just became the odd man out or should I say the short guy out for minutes again....poor guy never gets his.
What about the wing position? Who is Burke going to replace?
My bet and I hope Bell is gone, but hmmmm Price or maybe if AK is gone it might not matter.

There's 8 players on contract, 2 draftees and 1 team option player. They have to sign at least two free agents.

Fes and Elson could be the only players not brought back. I think they might want the whole PG line back.

CJ's option gets picked up. Watson is resigned unless the Jazz try to bring in a good PG when they trade Milsap.
Not too sure what you try to bring in if you trade milsap. Outside shooting most likely.

If there are any trades itll be in this order imo Okur, Millsap, Harris. I hope we acquire a sf or pg if we trade any of those.

remaining players without contracts (free agents): AK, Price, Watson, Elson, and Fes
With contracts: Jefferson, Milsap, Bell, Okur, Harris, Favors, Hayward, Evans, and Miles is the one with the option.
but can't the Jazz cut someone that still has a contract?
Now that I think about it they will probably keep the same team together because they can have 15 guys...right? Elson is gone, the rest are still there.

They could have up to 15 guys. They COULD cut someone under contract but they still count towards the cap and you still have to pay them so it is unlikely the Jazz do so.
What it sounds like based on all the analysts comments who know Corbin is that he likes open competition for position and playing time. Nothing like getting the most out of people by putting all those guys in training camp and saying "earn your time".

Love Millsap, but would love to see him traded for Andre Iguodala.

I'm looking at Danny Granger if he is really available. He is the epitome of what we need right now. Granger would fit right into our open 3 spot and would most importantly give us a legit outside shooting threat.
Iggy is a great player and would be a...somewhat good fit but he can't shoot well enough and he will only take time from Burks and Hayward unless you slide him to the 3 spot.

we need younger players now. you dont trade for those guys unless you think that it will help put you over the edge to win a championship. and we arent even close to that so why take on big contracts? makes zero sense

You can't have a team full of young guys. You do need some veteran leadership. I would just rather not have either of those two.

I actually agree with aldridge in this case. Millsap for Hamilton would be fine with me.

Disagree. We have a core of very young players. A nice vet is just what the doctor ordered to guide and mentor these guys, and Im talking about someone with actual ability (sorry Raja Bell).
Granger would be perfect for us. We need outside shooting. What is his contract like? Is he really available?

If it is richard hamilton... yuck no. We should have done it draft night and to get the 8th pick (Knight) as well.

No to Rip Hamilton and his ghastly contract and horible attitude on a young team.

+1. Why would we want the instigator of the player protest that got their coach fired on a very terrible team? He's old, played out with a terrible contract. I understand the need for a good experienced vet, but let's look elsewhere.

I think everyone on the board would agree that we should move Bell if possible. I would sign Watson and probably keep CJ one more year, but definitely take away the green light.
If we don't sign AK, then we possibly could trade Sap for a 10-15 million dollar player at the 2 or 3. (Iggy, Josh Smith, Rip, Monta, Gerald Wallace etc).
I'm thinking we would have to give up assets for a big trade... maybe just sign AK and play matchups with Sap at the 3?

It would be very cool to sign AK and then later down the road trade him for an outside shooter. AK's contract won't be like a lead ball this year to the Jazz.
