C.J. Miles is sticking around.

The Jazz picked up his $3.7 million team option for the 2011-12 season on Wednesday. He would have become an unrestricted free agent if Utah declined the option.

"Thank all the fans for the support and the organization for belief that [I] can help this team. ... Now I'm back to work," Miles said on his Twitter account.

Miles, 24, has played all six of his NBA seasons for the Jazz. The 6-foot-6, 232-pound small forward was selected by Utah with the No. 34 overall pick in 2005 out of Skyline (Dallas) High School.

Miles averaged career highs last year in points (12.8), rebounds (3.3) and minutes (25.2), playing in 78 games and starting 19. He scored a career-high 40 points March 16 against Minnesota, shooting 14 of 18 from the field and 6 of 7 behind the 3-point line. Miles averaged 17.1 points during 14 games in March, scoring in double digits in each contest.

I hope this isn't true. We'll have to wait and see what the financial landscape of the NBA looks like when they finally do reach a new agreement.

I think that AK's main choices will be Utah or Russia. With a prolonged lockout he may just decide to move the family to Russia and finish his basketball career there.

to answer your question, just click on the time it was posted (ie "2 hours ago" under the tweet)

As for CJ's option, it was expected, he's a cheap player that contributes a lot (sometimes :)) I sure hope he isn't our best SF by the end of the season, though

Very low risk move by the Jazz. It's hard to see this hurting them when/if there's a new CBA. It's unlikely this option year costing the Jazz MORE money (relative to salary cap) in the new CBA. With no free agent period looming due to the lockout, by exercising this option the Jazz have effectively assured they have rights (of one sort or another) on another player when and if the lockout ends.

We may not have a basketball season this year, in which case picking up this option doesn't cost the Jazz a dime, but could provide them some kind of player rights to CJ in the new CBA.

Taking bets on if he stays all year or gets traded now...

Dingo---you follow CJ on Twitter--what's up with that?

CJ is okay for the price, if Corbin can keep him from chucking 3's. CJ should be a drive and slash and pull up shooter off the dribble. Hayward and Memo are the 3 pt guys, if Memo comes back.

They can also trade him. Who knows what's going to happen.

I'm wondering what CJ's work schedule is? Can't imagine, what a goof

Picking up the option was a no brainer. CJ is an asset at that price, and even if Utah has decided CJ isn't a part of the future, you don't throw away assets.

I really don't question that he works hard, you can see that he does and he cares a lot, but his mentality and BBIQ is what suffers, and you can't really fix that with practice, it's something he has to change mentally.

For a basketball club CJ has one of the best contracts in all of basketball to not pick it up would have been a bad move by the Jazz. CJ is way a head of Heyward and andy other 3 man they can pick up you may not like to watch him huck up 3's but your not going to find anything better for what Utah is willing to pay.

Hayward is already better than CJ and much cheaper. I can't wait to see where Hayward will be 6 years into his NBA career. If he is what CJ is, I will be astonished, in a very bad way.

I'd forgotten there were still people (person?) out there who would even entertain the notion that CJ is better/more valuable than Hayward. The truth will be pretty apparent next time we see both guys on the court.
