Paul Millsap - PF from Utah
Jameer Nelson - PG from Orlando
Chris Duhon - PG from Orlando

~ Orlando gets:

Devin Harris - PG from Utah
Josh Smith - PF from Atlanta

~ Utah gets:

Kirk Hinrich - G from Atl
Brandon Bass - PF from Orlando
JJ Reddick - SG from Orlando

Whaddya think??

It's good because we desperately need shooters, and receiving a very competent back up big in Bass gives Favors and Kanter room to grow while still providing some of the things Millsap brought. But honestly, the Jazz give up more talent than thet get here, and wouldn't do it without getting future assests out of it. It's a move that a contender would make to fill up a couple holes...a rebuilding team such as Utah doesn't benefit muh from this now or in the future.

Why y'all say that Utah gives up too much, you drafted the best big man in the draft (seen him play at UK practice a few times, he's even better than advertised seriously, midway through the season y'all will forget all about Millsap) & you get 2 great shooters and a better PF shooter with a tougher defensive game. The Jazz front office made Devin accessible during the draft & got no real offers, this would take him off Utah's hands & add pieces that fit better

There's nothing Brandon Bass is better at than Paul Millsap.

Millsap's midrange shooting is one of the best parts of his game.

Come on, the Jazz can get a lot more out of this. They trade Millsap and/or Harris to a bad team where Sap can start forever (like he wants) and get future picks and a shooter. I don't think the trade you proposed is bad at all, especially if Kanter pans out, but the Jazz would probably want to try and trade for the chance to secure an up-and-coming PG, whether someone like Knight or a Marquis Teague.

I appreciate the effort here, Jrich, but this is a complete **** job. Jazz would be out of their minds to do it. Hinrich isn't the type of player you want on your team when you're rebuilding, Bass is a poor man's Millsap (and you if you really think that Bass is a better shooter than Paul....good luck with that), and Reddick is an 8th man who is basically a specialty player. This is a debacle. Its not even close.

You guys seem to forget Millsap is like what 6'6" 6'7"?? Bass is 6'9" and also a great mid range shooter, just taller which makes him more durable as a guy who can be a legit C

You guys are now logjammed at paint positions and need shooters, is that not right?

Brandon Bass does nothing, absolutely nothing, better than Paul Millsap. Hinrich is not superior to Harris, and the difference is not Redick.

Can you play Millsap at C? NO HE'S 6'7", the best thing about Bass is his versatility and his toughness, if given the chance he'd be a lot more consistent scorer, he just doesn't get the PT in Orlando

Hinrich is a pure scorer, sort of a tweener thanks to his size and JJ is another pure scorer

I know Devin Harris is a scorer as well, but 2 is always better than 1, would you rather have Arenas or Ryan Anderson, both would also be expendable

Millsap shot a better percentage than him on jumpers last year. I see no reason for that to change next year.

Both men are listed at 6'8/250. As for playing Bass at Center, it's bad enough we're playing Jefferson there. That would be quite a miscasting.

Millsap is an iron man which in of itself is enough to prove his value. If more proof is needed, go back and watch Paul Millsap beat the Miami Heat in about 30 seconds. Then try and say Bass is a better shooter. Just not true. We may all be undervaluing Bass, but you are vastly undervaluing Millsap.

My two favorite teams are the Magic and the Jazz, so I've watched enough games to comment on this. The Jazz get screwed in this trade, royaly. The Magic only have two good players on their team, (Howard, JJ), everyone else is trash. Millsap may be undersized, but the guy works just as hard as anyone in the league. He's got a very solid mid-range game that's only going to get better, and he can play multiple positions. Whenever Bass switched over center from the power forward spot, the Magic got worked. He can't defend, he's not a very smart player, and he's a chucker. I am a fellow Magic fan, so I feel your pain, but while other posters from different team's message boards may not be as familiar with your teams players as you are, the gms of all the NBA teams ARE aware, and this trade would never happen. Orlando is just going to have to wait three years before they're allowed to rebuild, because NOBODY wants anybody from our team, other than Howard and Redick.

I think were pretty set on where we are as a team. Were not going to talk about trades as Utah is set for the new CBA changes should they arise. Were at 62 mill as it stands and 49 in 2012-13 which is perfect positioning for a nice star caliber player. I dont think were going to make any trades unless its for a player we cant pass up, orfor a lottery pick in 2012-13 to further our rebuild.

Center is part of the logjam too, and playing Bass at center is a bad idea (and this is pretty apparent to anyone who has seen him out of position just once). No, I'd rather keep Millsap unless you can convince a third team to take the package Orlando sends and actually give us something we covet, like a young point guard.

Um, Bass and Millsap measured out at the same height at the draft combine. They are basically the same size.

I personally don't want to clog up the SG spot again. Burks and Hayward are already two kids who can play SG, with CJ Miles resigning too, you know he's going to steal 24-30 minutes from these guys, and I guess Bell is sticking around, and Jeremy Evans. No thanks, no more guys at the SF/SG position please. Millsap at full health is an 18-20ppg 9-11rpg kind of player, and he's getting with each day. He's a perfect guy to play a Lamar Odom role off the bench for us, thanks to his improved versatility where he can give us plenty of run at PF and now SF.
