I think it's possible there will be a full season but it won't start on time. I don't see that option here.

I think another likely possibility is that there is a 50-60 game season, but I can't imagine a scenario where they play just 40 games.

Those are the three likeliest scenarios I see:

~80-game season that starts late (Mid-November, maybe)

50-60 game season that starts in Dec or Jan

No Season

There's not going to be a season. The owners have decided to break the Union, and the players Union is so bad a math and so beholden to their agents, that they don't seem to understand that losing over a billion in compensation this season will NEVER be made up in any future deal. When billionaires take on millionaires, the billionaires ALWAYS win. The players had better get serious about negotiating, or they are going to be riding buses around China and Russia for the next 12 months while their Bentley's get repossessed.

If the owners/players don't come to an agreement, their lawyers will. We'll have a season, but whether it's a full season or half season, we won't know.

We will have a season that starts on time, I believe that CBA agreement will have a hard cap included...The owners are tired of seeing the same teams in the playoffs every year.

God I hope you are right about the hardcap. Poor Stock and Malone didnt get to compete with a hard cap.

I am optimistic that we will have something of a season but I still dont buy that things are looking up and we will have a full season on time. I dont care how the media spins it....all I know is that I am not in those negotiation rooms to hear for myself how bad or not bad things are going and there are players playing in overseas leagues RIGHT NOW. That tells the true story.

Once the agents implement their coup and overthrow the jack wagon that is Billy Hunter something will happen but until then it's gridlock.

One possible fallacy in this scenario is the assumption that a majority of agents are more moderate than Hunter, which is likely not the case. Arn Tellum, for example, is far more committed to letting market forces run amok than both Hunter and most of the players. Any solution to the stalemate will be arrived at in spite of the agents, imo.

I dont have sympathy for the Players on this. If they really cared about the NBA and their own teams, They wouldn't be risking injuries and other things by playing overseas. I hate these players that once the big payday come they just sit and relax and digress as players. They need to be slapped in the FACE and I hope the owners get to lower salaries.
