http://twitter.com/#!/Lockedonsports/st ... 9864543234Reports from @daldridgetnt have the Jazz agreeing to terms with Jamaal Tinsley. Surprised he was troubled in Indy. may not be guaranteed.
Not sure where the original report by aldridge is...Probably means we couldn't hook Watson

EDIT: Looks like it might be a done deal

Hold your water guys, Tinsley isn't a typical D League guy. He was a sound PG before Memphis. He's rested, in good shape and should make a very good, inexpensive backup PG for 10 minutes a night. He's not expecting to start, he has a lot of experience and he works well with the new kids on the block.
So it's not a bad pickup. I think Tinsley still has two good years left in him--maybe three.
I hope Earl gets a two or three year deal also, but I don't know if he wants to be on the bench with Tinsley who is just as skilled at backup PG. Tinsley brings more to the party than R Price.

Watson or Price are gone....I'm guessing this will lessen Watsons incentive to come back to Utah

I still see the Jazz bringing Watson back. Tinsley is a #3 guard type guy.
Right now it's unclear if this is a full blown contract or just a D-league rental so don't freak out too much.

WTF?
I'm about ready to give up on basketball. First the league is granting the Lakers CP3 (and maybe DH soon on his heels), but now I see the Jazz sign Jamaal Tinsley?!?
Definitely not a guy I want anywhere near my young guys.

According to @tribjazz: Details of Tinsley's contract with #UtahJazz still have to be worked out. But he's coming into camp with idea it's a long-term role.
Long-term role? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Talk about taking a gigantic dump on your fans. If this is a guaranteed contract, I am ashamed to be a Jazz fan.

This might make you feel better:
http://www.ridiculousupside.com/2011/11 ... k-d-leagueNotable quotes:
"Jamaal has great leadership and
he's been tremendous with our young players," Musselman said. "He is so unselfish -- and his unselishness is contagious. He's like a great quarterback ... he just has an unbelievable understanding of who and when to get shots for our guys."
"Jamaal came into camp in great physical condition," Musselman told Ridiculous Upside after Monday night's game. "Players love playing with him and he's like having a coach on the floor ... I've loved coaching him."

I just can't help but feel like this doesn't really matter one way or the other. Always liked how gritty Tinsley is.

Let's not over react here. Tinsley has been a good PG. Indy and Memphis is a bad news town for guys that like to hang with the gangster crowd. Tinsely found out and it got him him in trouble. Tinsley won't get the Jazz trainer shot. There's no Memphis gangster bars to hang out in, and everyone in town is packing so Tinsley will be warned not to look for trouble.
1. He's good point guard.
2. He's willing to accept the back up job to get back to the bigs.
3. He is good with young players--on the court and in practice. Earl Watson is too.
4. He's going to make at least $1.4 mil a season so he's not going to save the Jazz any money over Earl. I suspect Earl will get closer to $2 mil. It's the length of the contract that's going to be a problem.
5. The Nicks were making offers to Tinsley also. NY is not a good place for guys that had problems in Memphis.
6. The Jazz need a backup point guard or two. Where are they suppose to get them. PG's are going so quick the Jazz have to act.
7. The Jazz will probably sign Earl too, if the length of the deal can be worked out.
8. Apparently people like to shoot at Tinsley but the bullets seem to always hit someone else, so he's lucky too.
9. He got rid of the Rolls Royce.
The sky isn't falling. Tinsley is a decent low cost experienced FA that can help in an intense short season. So don't start booing before he hits the court. You know how that worked out with Stockton and Hayward.
