Houston-Utah Trade Idea

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:04 pm

Assuming Houston/Lakers/New Orleans trade doesnt go down. Houston really wants a center. Would you trade Al Jefferson and Miles for Kevin Martin and Luis Scola? Remember Kevin McHale, Rockets new coach, loves big Al. Jazz lineup:

PG Harris Tinsley Watson
SG Martin Bell Burks
C Memo Kantor Favors Scola
PF Favors Scola Millsap
SF Heyward Millsap Evans

If Memo is healthy I would say possible championship contender with an extremely deep bench. Scola and Millsap borderline allstars coming off the bench.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

I'd do that in a heart-beat, but I don't think Houston would consider it. A starting line of Favors - Scola - Hayward - Martin - Harris would be fun to watch.

I wouldn't..... We're taking on too much money, and it doesn't make us a championship contender...... And having both Scola and Millsap makes no sense.....

Just a Jefferson for Martin trade would work. I'd just do that.

Al Jefferson for Kevin Martin might work out.

But I think a lot of Jazz fans don't understand what they're getting. Martin's defense is probably even worse than Jefferson's, and I'd rather have a post scorer than a perimeter scorer. Taking a look at the kind of offers Chandler, Nene, and Dalembert are getting, I think Al Jefferson might be the guy you'd want to stick with. But most guys on the board here are really low of Jefferson right now.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

I used to like martin as much as th next jazz fan, but after they beat utah and martin said it was like houstons superbowl, I got turned waaaay off of him. Plus why is everyone so on a guy who busted his ass this whole ofseason and it shows(physically) to just up and trade him? Centers are valuable, al jeff has one of the best post games in the league. He isn't a great defener but blocksa fair amount of shots. If kanter were ready to step in as the starting center then maybe. But al I only 26 and coming off career highs in a number of categories. Martin is getting old and is often injured, and with cj,hayward, burks why d we need his old ss takin all the minutes away from our young wings?

I accepot that trade for the Jazz in 2 seconds.

Scola is awesome...plus Kevin Martin at 20ppg?

Houston would never do this trade!
