Lakers need a new team to help them get Paul. New Orleans wants picks, young players and expiring contracts, The Jazz have exactly that! Heres a trade Lakers do but hornets and Jazz not so sure.

Jazz get: Gasol and Matt Barnes
trade away: Memo (expiring), Millsap, Miles (expiring), Evans, and GSW pick

Lakers get: Paul and Okafor (saves New Orleans money)
trade away: Gasol, Barnes, carater, goudelock, and Mavs pick

New Orleans get: Memo (expiring), Millsap, Miles (expiring) Evans, caracter, goudelock, GSW pick, and Mavs pick

Jazz lineup:
PG Harris Watson Tinsley
SG Heyward Bell Burks
C Jefferson Favors Kantor
PF Gasol Favors Kantor
SF Howard Barnes Heyward

The Hornets want young talent meaning the Jazz would have to give up Favors or Kanter+Burks/Hayward to get Pau which would be stupid and which the Jazz won't do.

They get expiring contracts as well as get rid of Okafor's terrible contract. They also get GSW pick and another #1 pick. They would want Kantor, Favors, or Heyward and if so then Jazz say see ya later.

We're not a contender now, and we won't be next season.

Gasol is on his way down, we don't need to give away a pick for his age.

Gasol's a great player. Makes zero sense as a trade target. He's in a totally different place as a player than we are as a franchise.

Wow...this is much, much worse for New Orleans than any of the deals attempted with the Lakers or Clippers.
