Power Polls and Rankings Jazz at Bottom

The NBA power rankings are out.
It has the Jazz at 27th and GSW at 19th (11th worst).
http://www.nba.com/2011/news/powerranki ... index.htmlSport Illustrated has the Jazz at 26th and GSW at 23rd (8th worst).
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/w ... =hp_t11_a2If these power rankings turn out to be correct, Jazz back in lottery with their pick and GSW's pick around 12th.
It's going to sting to finish this low out of the money, but it all gets better at draft time. The only problem with 2012 draft is the best players are big men, which the Jazz don't need. That spells trade opportunities.

I still think we are competing for a playoff spot. Our depth and talent will propel us ahead of a lot of those other teams.

I think this season is impossible to predict outside of top 5 seeds in each conference......
Although, I don't think the Jazz will make the playoffs......

Like it says in Luigi's signature - ESPN predicted the Jazz to win something like 14 games or some way low number and yet the team went on to 42-40..missing the playoffs by one win
yeah we'll see.. I think we're a better team - and we sneak into the playoffs.

I would love to argue that we're being extremely under-estimated but.... Jerry Sloan isn't walking through that door.
I don't think we're going to end up being THAT bad but we're going to be struggling to compete for that 8th spot. I actually do believe that we'll be in the running for the 8th spot but everything has to go correctly to get it.

Im' guessing 28 wins. Not sure what place that'll put us.
I'm kinda guessing we'll have the 10th and 12th pick this year.

I remember not too long ago we were picked to finish with the worst record in NBA history.
And we finished 42-40, missing the playoffs by a tie-breaker.
Of course, we had Sloan in those days. With Corbin....27th seems about right.
Prove me wrong, Ty!!!

To be fair, Hubie Brown took a Memphis team that went 28-54 the year before and led them to a 50-32 record. I still think Sloan should've won it, but at least he didn't lose out to Sam Mitchell that year.
While we're on the subject, fun fact: You know who Hubie Brown replaced at Memphis? Sidney Lowe, who started the 2002-2003 season 0-8 and who achieved the remarkable feat of finishing the previous two seasons with the identical record of 23-59. His career head coaching record is 79-228.

I think we'll be competitive while we're healthy, but any kind of 2 week injury to any of our top 6 guys is really going to hurt us with how tightly games are being squeezed together.
Our raw talent will win us some games, but lack of maturity from our younger guys will catch up with us during our back to back loaded schedule. I don't think our most important young guys know how to bring it every single night when you're playing a team who you are supposed to lose too, or on your 4th game in 5 nights, or when you haven't practiced enough to iron out chemistry issues. That kind of stuff turns a two week stretch that looked like a potential 6-3 stretch into a 4-5 or 3-6 stretch very easily, and before long the losses start piling up very quickly.
I think our young guys will learn a lot this year though, and it will pay dividends in the future.

Well, we can't go anywhere but up from here. This season is about the future.
I am sticking to my 26-40 record projection, which I am fine with as long as we are developing our rooks and sophs.

hopefully we will be better than the nets. They are getting spanked big time by the hawks right now 86 -55 and all the rankings have them above us specially nba.com. Im optimistic and say were atleast 19-20 on the rankings not 27th.

The Nets are ahead of the Jazz. They've won a game!

ROFL.
What do you mean. Haha.
I just mean we are at the bottom. So we either stay at the bottom, or we go up a bit.
But I get the joke, tonight was brutal.

I just mean there's room to be worse than 27th.
