I was wondering when this thread was going to show up. I was ready for it after preseason.

I don't think so. This draft sucks for us, loaded at PF and not many PG's or SF. I have always been high on Barnes but he is not having a great year. I would be alright with Lamb.

Not sure there is anyone that would really help us. Im thinking maybe Rivers for all around talent. Maybe trade away both lottery picks and Jefferson for a top notch PG....hm sign and trade for Dwill? LOL

In a way that's actually good. High draft picks and top big men prospects are some of the best assets you could ask for. You draft BPA this year and then in a couple years you are able to trade the for the pieces you're missing.

The thing is there's a lot of terrible teams out there.

Cavs, Suns, Raptors, Nets, Wizards, pistons, hornets, rockets, kings, to name a few can be worse than us, being us pretty bad.

The Hornets aren't looking that bad (Jack actually looks like a PG willing to step up in absence of a star PG, something Harris should learn). The Kings are looing improved. The Suns aren't very good, but I still think they are better.

Anyways, I think we have the potential at getting the #1 pick because those East teams have the luxury of playing and beating up on other bad teams in the East because they play more games against those teams than what the Jazz do. The Jazz have a harder strength of schedule.

Not too soon at all. Until I see our team run an offense that doesn't resemble church ball at 9pm at the stake center.....I think an even better thread might be "race for the #1 win of the season."

There's no star PGs in the Draft...... That's what's really sad...... No Derek Rose, no Deron Williams, not even a Chris Paul, so far at least......

Really? Who's to say there couldn't? Kendall Marshall looks good out of UNC. He knows how to run an offense well, he would be a perfect pick with the GS pick presuming they are in the 8-13 range.

There's no guarantee we'll get that GSW pick...... I was referring more to our own top 3 pick.......

Kendall Marshall is scoring 5 points per game on horrible efficiency with horrible defense...

My board for the Jazz:

1. Anthony Davis
2. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
3. Brad Beal
4. Harrison Barnes
5. Quincy Miller
6. Andre Drummond
7. Thomas Robinson (only if the Jazz trade Millsap for a PG or assets)

I'll be a fan of picking any of those seven. Davis and Gilchrist can add the defense, unselfishness, and attitude this team needs, Beal is a really good fit with his great all-around game and huge range, Barnes moves well without the ball and can hit shots (which the Jazz need), Quincy Miller and Andre Drummond are really talented, and Robinson works hard and is athletic and skilled. I do not want Perry Jones III.

I don't even care. His 10 apg must be added to his ppg. So in reality he's scoring or facilitating between 25 to 30 ppg.

A guy that passes like that is going to have a big impact in the NBA. His teammates are going to love him, and he'll be a star-maker in this league. He's going to dictate the pace of nearly every game he plays.

Is he going to play worse defense than Harris, Nash, Fisher, or Fredette? He's 6'4". I'm betting that his D will at least be on par with those guys.

He's passing to Harrison Barnes, John Henson, Tyler Zeller and other good players at a really fast pace though.

I really want Kidd-Gilchrist, Jeremy Lamb, Bradley Beal or Harrison Barnes. I think Bradley Beal or Kidd-Gilchrist would be the best fits for our team but Lamb and Barnes would certainly be exciting and provide us some outside shooting/scoring.

I don't get your point. Will he be surrounded by inferior talent in the NBA?

What's the competition like? Is he going to be playing against the same type of opponents he's facing now? Are his teammates in the NBA going to playing against the same competition they're facing now? I highly doubt it......

I think we'll see two or three superstar talents come out of this draft. Those are likely to be Davis, Drummond and one of the Jones III/ Barnes/ Sullinger group. Short of getting that type of talent, I think that Beal and Gilchrist should be our two top targets. If we can come out of this draft with those two guys, I think it would be a true home run. We'd be flush with top young talent at every position, with an unbelievably diverse mixture of speed, size, strength, shooting, slashing, defense, and passing on the wing.

This team is obviously not going anywhere this year. And early results suggest, at least to me, that Corbin is not the man to take us where we want to go. I certainly think its possible for us to have the worst record in the league and, what's more, is that I would VASTLY prefer that fate than to finish just outside the playoffs.

I still like what we have going, but its going to be a long grind of a season and the kids are going to have to take a lot of lumps before we start the climb back to contention.
