http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime... in the case of Mehmet Okur -- who joined the team just prior to the opener and looked positively awful for a second straight night. He finally scored in his 39th minute as a Net, after missing eight times from the field and one on a technical foul shot. In 40 minutes, he has seven rebounds and seven fouls, and has not blocked a shot. Or run at full speed. Or jumped.
At least we aren't the only team really struggling these days. The teams in full rebuild mode with the short preseason seem to be taking it on the chin.

Oh man... the pain and anguish on this board that could have been! Just imagine the gnashing of teeth that would be going on around here if both Bell and Okur were playing 20 mpg in absolute futility!

Deron never threw lobs. Almost never. Not sure why. Lack of targets?

He threw lobs to CJ, there's a really great one from about half court......
But generally, yeah, Deron didn't often throw lobs, probably because our bigs couldn't jump......

Its weird, though, because Watson found a way to connect with the same players. Its similar to Mark Jackson and John Stockton. Stockton never threw oops. Jackson came in and set AK loose on those baseline forays through the sky. I just don't think Deron is as inclined to see those angles is all. Which is fine, because its just one way to score. Its one area where CP is miles better.

I think Jazz should make an offer to Deron when he is a FA. If anything, this will bury the hatchet with him. I really feel like he, while not innocent by any means, took an unfair amount of the heat for our problems and for Sloan walking out.
I would not at all be surprised if he decided to come back to be honest, but that remains a pipe dream.

Paul had Tyson Chandler...... If Tyson was on the Jazz, Deron would be throwing him lobs too.......

If we can get a promising showing from our young guys and deal Harris + Jefferson for expirings, I see no reason why we couldn't make a play for Deron and Dwight to come here. The only other options for them would be NJ or Dallas, and I think we'd have a solid advantage over NJ. Dallas would be a bit tougher to compete with

Deron threw lobs to CJ and Brewer when he could, they even use to run plays to throw alley-oops to Booze.
I think Memo will struggle most of the year. He hasn't played in the NBA for practically 2 seasons now.

Memo blew it up tonight in the NJ Atlanta game.
15pts. 5 rebs and 3 assists
NJ still didn't win, but Memo earned the $128,000 a game he gets paid.
