Cousins anyone?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Mon Jan 2, 2012 1:50 am

Cousins has demanded a trade from Kings. Jazz management liked him alot but he is kind of a nut but a talented nut.

Kings would want Kanter and GSW #1 pick which I do not do. I probably dont do Kanter for Cousins.

I do Jefferson, Miles, Evans, GSW #1 pick for Cousins, Francisco Garcia (bad contract long term), Salmons (bad contract long term) Take on 2 bad contract though decent players and give up Evans and GSW pick to get Cousins. Jefferson and Miles leaving is addition by subtraction as team improves without them.

Jazz would have PF/C combo of Kanter, Cousins, and Favors for several years plus Burks and Hayward at the wings. PG becomes the only issue for the future.

So, we give up a good pick in the deepest draft in recent memory and our future cap flexibility for one of the only centers in the league who is less efficient than Jefferson and who has proven to be a head case?

I loved Cousins when he came out, but that situation playing out in Sacramento is one I'd want to stay far away from....just say no to DMC....

Kings would want GSW pick or Kanter as another team makes better offer. Salaries need to match up as well but the Jazz do have the trade exception.

Yes I would try my luck on Cousins. We all know he's really good but damn he's got a **** attitude.

I'd do Jefferson, Millsap, Bell for Cousins, Salmons, Thompson. It's give and take. The guy on a rookie contract is not in a position of power. We get 2 decent guys with that. We also get the worst contract in Salmons.

Just say no to headcases who haven't proven themselves in the league.

With Sloan or another future HOF coach I'd be tempted. With rookie head coach? I wouldn't even answer the phone.

I don't know if that basketcase is good fit for the Jazz...... Does anyone really think Corbin would have a clue as to how to utilize him properly.....

No way would I include Millsap in a trade for Cousins (of course, I wouldn't want a center who shot 43% his first year and is shooting 32% this year, while simultaneously being a nut job, in any scenario).

Rookies dont shoot well...see Kanter and Jimmer both under 40 percent this year and see rookie stats from other years. This years stats are a limited to just 4 games. Cousins will be a 20 pt 10 rb guy in this league probably by next year. He has better post moves than Favors though Favors has more athletic ability.

If we can get him cheap not much risk anything. By cheap i mean any combination of players plus the GSW pick less Hayward, Kanter, Favors, or Burks (everyone else I could car eless about as they wont be on the Jazz in 2-3 years.) If Jazz want Cousins he is not coming to Utah without including the GSw pick if you dont want to give one of our lottery players of the past 2 years.

I would give up the GSW pick, hayward and watson for Cousins and possibly a future first with protections. He's worth the risk. I like Hayward but his skill set is the easiest to replace and we need potenial stars on this team. I wouldn't over value that pick or hayward because how many times do you get a chance at someone with his potential even if theres risk invovled.

As far as attitude is concerned there may not be a player in this league that would fit less with the Jazz than Cousins.
