Jazz Trades!

Post#1 » by Montanajazz » Tue Jan 3, 2012 6:00 am

Trade Jefferson to Philly for Iggy. sign Pryzbilla to one year contract. Trade Bell & Miles for the best player possible.

Kantor Favors Howard Harris Iggy
Prizbylla Milsap Hayward Watson Burks
Evans Tinsley

At least there would be energy and hustle. no more worthless defense of Miles, Jefferson and Bell

I'd like for any trades we make to open up cap room for next offseason to make a play for Dwight/Deron. It may be a long shot, but it's still worth a try IMO

Interesting but incredible, unless
Too small market, a specific community, conservative owners.
I like it, but 90% of the stars of the NBA - not!

Jazz is always a well-paid and guaranteed job security, especially in times of Larry H., but somehow it never attracted the stars. Those who played in the Jazz were the choices in the draft (Stockton, Mailman, Eaton, Deron, AK), or only here in SLC has built its position (Boozer, Okur). Hornacek and Harpring ware a exceptions, but they have never been a stars rather very good (Horny) or solid (Harp) players, but both remarkably intelligent.

Yes, correct, we will never get superstars out of free agents market.

All we can do. Draft and develop these stars. But these players have to be patient for wins and very loyal...

Unfortunately, Jazz are making no trades right now with Jefferson. Not sure if its because his trade value sucks, but I bet if they can't trade him it's because his trade value sucks, not because of some other bs.

How about something like...

Jazz Trade Jefferson and Harris to Cleveland for Antawn Jamison and Ramon Sessions
He's expiring but still a versatile forward. While Sessions is also a versatile Guard with just a year left.

Or see if they'll bite on Raja and CJ instead of Devin and see what we can get for Harris on the Open Market...

Because with Jefferson they're headed straight to the playoffs? Look I think that it would mean this year has the potential to be rough, but how is that different than it already is? It would save the extra year on Jeffersons contract in that Jamison is expiring... which means he could have even more value later in the season.

There is a lot of potential suitors for Big Al, if he keeps playing the way he is right now that list will grow. Thing is Kanter, Favors, milly and Evans can ably cover (long term anyway) what Al does.

I think if we look at 76 er's we don't need to look at iggy, I like Devin but an upgrade at point guard that can grow up with all our current young talent is worthwhile investment. So maybe Lou Williams or Jrue Holiday, might be a risk cause we would need to take Nocs bad contract, but maybe u could amnesty him (not sure if you can do this after trading for a guy).

Obviously guys like Curry and Rondo are in our wheelhouse, but may prove difficult to jag, even though both warriors and C's could use some help up front. I dont think the Jazz would be in the business of giving away their future, but these guys are elite PG - high risk high reward.

Others worth looking at Jeff Teague, DJ Augustine and Ramon Sessions. But maybe a really worthwhile get is Jared Bayless.

I want no part of Bayless. The rest of the young guards you mentioned would be fine. But I like Holiday the best out of all of them.

I'm a big fan of Jeff Teague, but I think he'd be hard to pry away (they'll probably want more than his actual value).

You can only amnesty a player with an old (pre-lockout) contract with your team at the beginning of the season. That means you cannot trade a player to amnesty and you cannot amnesty your player anytime as you wish. :-(

It's going to really suck when we give up Jeremy Evans in a Raja Bell trade...

Cause we're that desperate to get rid of his 6 million dollar contract...

We would just cut him over having to give up Evans just to trade him... that is ridiculous

Duhon hasn't been decent since he was on crap Nkicks team, but I think Reddick over Harris at pg is a step back, so probably a step back at pg overall.
