Throw Harris out of "the train"

I dont like his attitude, what is his game presence, he is injury prone, and by the way Burks would be great starting pg, that kid feels the game, and his foul enforcing is second to none, lets trade Harris for anything, but best would be a shooter of course. By the way im not saying that cuz i dont like Harris, on the beginning of the season i was happy that he is still with the team i thought that he would be very useful, but as we see he is not, and he looks like he don care much.

Its not like Harris taking up alot of minutes. He is an ok player better suited as a third guard ala Jason Terry. Burks not ready to play PG but he did have 6 assists today.

The issue is what we can get for him. I'm sure a guy like Ben Gordon would be available for Harris and Raja, but do we really want to trade for a vet - especially one on a large contract? Atlanta might be able to use him and move Hinrich (or send Kirk to the Lakers and we'd get a TPE) but, again, it doesn't do much for us other than move him. He's not really hurting the team - most of the time - but a lot of the time he isn't helping as much as you'd expect. He's certainly on the lower tier of starting point guards in the NBA.

Harris is usually a net-neutral to the team, much like Al Jefferson when he's making shots. They don't hurt us much, although they don't really help either. Raja Bell on the other hand is hurting this team, and he is who we should be focused on dumping

Knicks fan here, but also a devin harris fan.

Haven't got to see him a lot this year, but what's wrong with him? Is he really a cancer to the team now? He's young and I think he should still be getting 35+ minutes a night, he's a much more impactful player on the floor than earl watson...

He isn't a point guard, he's always injured and contrary to popular belief is not a "much more impactful player than Earl Watson."

I'm not trying to sound like an arse, Harris just isn't the right point guard for this team (at least long term).

not really, no.

but it has been a frustrating season so far in utah, and he and jefferson have been the scapegoats. of all the players on the team, these 2, whether they are playing well, or not, seem to fit in the least with the rest of the guys (to us fans that is). it's just something about their presence that "just doesn't belong."

i wouldn't be opposed to trading harris either, but i don't think he is as bad as his reputation around this board would suggest. (bell on the other hand.....well, you have any good ny style pizza?)

I actually really like Harris if he's in the right situation, but this isn't the place for him. You can't have Jefferson and Harris on the same team, too little ball movement between the two to have them both on the floor for 70 minutes a night.

I wonder what kind of a deal Harris would fetch, I'd love to move him for a Jameer Nelson type player.

Trade Harris for a position that we need depth at next offseason. Need to draft Kendall Marshall (PG) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

Devin for Landry Fields! NY fans will hate it but Landrys a role player and NY can use Devin. He fits their sceme better.

He played great vs philly, because there's was not Jefferson, so he put the team in his shoulder in the 2nd quarter.
Yesterday he was dishing, but not scoring... Al was scoring for all the team. Then you expect more than 0 points for Harris, but if the team is winning I don't care too much if our pg is not scoring.

It's not that Harris isn't a great player, he's just in the wrong situation. He seemed lukewarm ever since he got here. I just don't think he's a Jazz organization type guy.

I think he's coming along, and I think once Howard (an old buddy of his) starts to fill the vacant hole on our SL, he'll be even better. It's brutal playing with just 3 other teammates to start each half.

I quite like Devin Harris myself. Hasn't been in top form with us, but is a very quality guard. Plus, if Hayward continues to develop and emerge as the playmaker many of us believe he can be, it won't be an issue that Harris isn't a "pure" point guard, in my opinion.

Devin isn't that bad but some like to pile on. I don't think he is doing badly. What I would expect is in the next year or two for the Jazz to find a young PG that they can begin grooming to run the position. I don't see Harris, Watson, OR Tinsley as long-term options.
