Trade Idea re: Harris

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Thu Jan 12, 2012 5:18 pm

Preferably the Jazz would like to trade Harris and another asset (GSW or Player) for their PG of the future.

How about just trading Harris plus Miles (or 2nd round pick) for Andre Miller who is unhappy about being a back up. Miller is an expiring contract and definitely fits the Jazz style of play than Harris who is clueless. Nuggets probably say no deal but I would give them a call.

I would do Harris for Miller everyday, but Miller is not the answer in a long term. He is 35.

You stay that they are looking for their PG of the future and you want them to trade their starter and a lottery pick for a 35 year old. You crazy man. I wouldn't trade both for Miller. I am not sure I would do Harris for Miller straight up right now.

I would do Harris for Miller, and some dumpable asset like Miles or 2nd round pick. The GSW pick is too valuable since Curry is hurt and there is a good chance that it ends up being a mid lottery pick in a good draft.

Cj and bell also works. Though can't see why denver would do that. Harris for dre is plausible. Think harris holds more value so maybe a throw in from denver?

With Wilson Chandler coming back (most likely to the Nuggets) I am not sure the Nuggets would do any trades unless Miller really became a pain in the behind. Since Bell is the self-proclaimed Kobe stopper maybe the nuggets would want him and Harris for Miller, a filler contract,a nd a future pick

Unless it's a future protected second round(=useless), giving up a pick in order to get Andre Miller would be stupid.

Although I would love it if Harris was traded for Miller.

Another larger trade would be Harris, Miles, GSW#1 pick for Tony Parker...giving up alot and taking on large contract but what a great fit

I'd like Louis Williams. Too good to be a backup same with Augustine

No one should take Harris salary (17+M for this season and next) because he's been playing barely as a backup PG in the NBA since his arrival to the Jazz. But if someone can make a deal involving Harris' contract, that person is KOC. Dude's on a really bad contract as far as production/money.

Just so we get this right it is:
2012 - $9,319,000
2013 - $8,500,000

Or roughly 17+ mill over the next 2 seasons. When I first read that, I thought you were saying he got 17+ mill each season. Which is why this is the player the Jazz should unload. Not Watson, who is playing well on a good contract. If we can not get Miller on a deal that is good for the Jazz and Denver we should not do it.

And any deal that does not remove Harris but does remove Watson is not a good deal.

I mean the Jazz can sit on Harris. Not like the Jazz are doing much this year any way. Harris will be more valuable next year if they want to move him, they could, as he will have an expiring contract and I think they could move him more easily. Then just sign Miller as a free agent in the summer.

All getting Miller this year might do is help us lose our first round pick to the Wolves, that we could use to draft a PG. That Miller could teach next year as his back up. I see no up side to pushing a trade with Denver right now. You do not get a PG that is the future and if you lose a pick in the process you are just farther along in the rebuilding.

If it is not Harris and maybe a Utah 2nd for Miller, forget it. We can wait.

I don't think there's a starting PG to be found in this year's draft.

I love Kendall Marshall, I'd take him if we end up with a pick in the teens and the obvious top talent is gone.

He doesn't score, but he does everything else well. He'd run the system perfectly with Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter around him. I love that starting line up.

I'm a Marshall fan too. I think he'll surprise a lot of people at the next level, particularly if he lands in the right situation. The Jazz would be a perfect fit.

i think i got really good trade proposal that would satisfy both teams in great way, its trade in which we are sending Big Al and Harris to Boston and we receive Rondo and Bass+Jo( so cash would be on same level), C;s stinks the need center, Big Al will fit there in good way, Harris when he want is solid pg so the should b happy with that, we get pass firs pg and in Bass person good role player who could play as backup for Sap/Fav.

I tried to come up with something yesterday that got the Celtics Jefferson, Varejao, and Harris. We got Rondo and Cavs got JO's expiring and some sweetness.
