Is Scott Layden contributing behind the scenes?

Seems like the Jazz are utilizing the old strategy of taking other teams throw-offs, that still have some gas in the tank. I wonder how much Scott Layden had to do with the acquisitions of Josh Howard, and Jamal Tinsley.

Given that KOC has a much better track record than Layden, why would you think Layden has anything to do with good personnel decisions?

Absolutely nothing.
How much has his coaching helped the Jazz win?
not at all
SL should be in the front office selling tickets. Then he could help the Jazz.

KOC has not come close to making the NBA finals, and Scott Layden did it twice.
I'm pretty sure that they work as a team (the coaching staff and front office), and regularly bounce ideas of one another.

Since you're the world's leading authority on stupid, I guess we really can't debate the issue.

Sounds like firedcoach has a little something personal against employed Layden.

Okay, Barney, first of all I've never been fired from a single job, either in the private sector or from coaching. I've never been asked to resign, and I've never had to quit for any reason other than taking a better job. I've also never had a losing year. Even when I managed companies, none of them had a single money losing year while I was there. And I've never looked for a job since I retired, nor have I accepted any of the consulting jobs and advisory jobs I've been offered since retiring. So you don't need to try to insult me. I haven't done that to you.
As far as having something against Scott Layden, I don't. I just think he's in the wrong job. I think the Jazz and Corbin could benefit from a coach with better experience. Layden got the job because the Jazz didn't have anything else to do with him at the time. If you've ever watched Layden coach a summer league game, then that speaks for itself.

Sensitive-much?
Also...running a lemonade in your front yard when your 12 doesn't count as managing companies

Sensitive no, not even a little. I responded because some people who might read your post could have gotten the wrong impression that you actually knew something.
Lemonade stands! No to that one too. I grew up in the South. At 12 we were doing Jack and Seven, and we weren't selling them. Lemonade was more around the age of 8 and we were mixing vodka with that.

Yeah, but since I moved to Utah I've lived a pure life devoid of alcohol, gambling, exotic dancing and general partying of almost any kind, including table dancing.
