Hayward (Almost) Traded for DeRozan

Post#1 » by retiredcoach » Thu Jan 19, 2012 11:35 pm

Mr. Swagtastic here hijacked the Hayward Burks thread with the quoted post. Apparently he does not know that Hayward is the face of the Jazz franchise for many years to come. Stockton/Malone and now Hayward/Favors.

Anyway, I thought I give it it's own run rather than leaving it as a footnote on another topic. Here you go Swagtastic.

Sorry guys to borrow this thread didn't want to make a new one on your board relating to Hayward.

Here goes my question, what is your opinion on Hayward for a DeRozan swap? A couple Raptor posters think that Hayward is a better player and want a DeRozan for Hayward swap asap. I feel like DeRozan is a better prospect/player for Toronto to have. I haven't seen much of Hayward cause of the time zone difference's but he looks like a good shooter and ok defender but gives you some solid rebounding from both the offensive and defensive side from the little bit of film I seen.

My problem is if Toronto and Utah were talking about a swap there would have to be more to it i.e. you taking Calderon or a bad deal and I can't see you doing that.

Thanks in advance and again sorry to mini highjack this thread

LOL at the title. I'll be he was trying to type "Hayward trade for DeRozan" not what appeared. I hope when he logs back on he will change it.

Mr. Smiles, I have no problem with thread titles.

MCT, What other title what have gotten anyone to look at a "what if trade" this silly? The fact that everyone is bitching about the thread title means they give no credence to the trade!

But with this title the thread is getting read, and getting read is what Swagtastic wanted.

No, not happy. He wasn't ALMOST traded. This is nothing more than fan fiction that gets endless hashed on the trade board.

I am not ready to say that Hayward is the face of the franchise yet.

Judging by the title, I thought he was almost traded then something blocked the trade on draft day or something.

Locking due to misleading title.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
