Favors

Post#1 » by darbstar » Fri Jan 20, 2012 7:27 am

How long is it going to be before Favors gets to start fulltime? Millsap and Jefferson are doing great but both still have plenty of years ahead of them. Favors is ready to start so whats the go??? Might as well trade Favors if he isnt going to play 30mins a night. Why not trade him for a good point guard or better sg/sf. Dont get me wrong I dont think the Jazz should trade him but I just think he is being wasted when he is ready to play big minutes.

I actually don't think he is ready to start. He needs more offensive game, including a go-to move. He doesn't have one right now, and when he gets stuck with the ball and needs to score, he can't. Also, he needs to get some nasty. He is too nice. When Dirk knocked the ball out of his hands, he acted like nothing happened, which was crazy. He should have gotten up in his face. Why would anyone fear him defensively if he lets that happen like that?

Favors is going to be very good, but he is not ready to start.

Favors was the main piece in the deron deal. He's not going anywhere.

Favors is not ready. I know his stats would be pretty good if he got a lot of minutes but he is not there offensively yet and he fouls way too much. I'm not giving up on him being an all star, but he is best right now being in the rotation but not starting.

Millsap and Jefferson will be the ones to go if anyone is traded from our front court

dont be so sure about it as they play really well together, you dont mess with something that is working good.

you're right I'm sure that they drafted Kanter with the 3rd pick and traded our superstar for Favors so they could be bench guys behind Al and Sap for the next five to ten years.

i get your point but what im saying is that if Al and Sap would lead this team to some major success i dont think that they would be traded just like that

I didn't get to watch the game yesterday but what was up with Favors? I saw he had two points, four turnovers, no blocks.

There's been between 60-80 top ten picks in the last twenty years who didn't start very much in their first two years and barely any of them turned out decent.

You need to see the part where Dirk slapped the ball out of his hands after an offensive foul was called on Favors. He literally didn't react at all and just walked away. Earl came in and did the same to Dirk all in his face, and Dirk shoved him away. Inexplicably, Earl was T'd up, and Dirk was not. It would have been Dirks second T of the game and he would have been ejected, one of the worst officiated moments I have EVER seen. Earl is a bulldog. I want Favors to learn that from him. Perhaps if he had reacted to Dirk the way he should have, it would have provoked the double-T that was warranted. I dunno, I am still in shock from that...

The Jazz need to change something about the rotation to try to get Favors to start playing hard and unselfishly and a change in the front line might do it. Favors regressing this year (like he is right now) would make this year a near complete waste for the team.

His turnover rate is significantly higher and his assist rate is significantly lower than in his rookie year, that's a regression. His defensive rebounding has improved a good deal though.

That last game was bs reffing. Still ticked Dirk didnt get a T. I dont know if these are the right emails but I sent them a courtesy WTF email.

Anyways back to the topic Yeah Favors need more attitude to me and he is learning from Al a bit too much. He will be fine but as a bench guy for now. I still think Favors and Kanter combo are pretty solid on the boards and defense.
