I know this has been talked about before, but now that it's back in the news...

Harris for Calderon.

What do you guys see as the pros and what are the cons?

His defense -

He had a good game game against us which usually means we will trade for him!

I'd rather just keep Harris.

Trouble is, Calderon is not Deron either.

It's easy to hate on what's here but if/when Cal is brought in get ready for a billion posts concerning his total lack of D.

Pros:
- Jose knows how to run an offense and properly feed a scoring big man
- plays the p&r well, both finding the roller or pulling up for a shot
- much more reliable shooter than Devin despite what his numbers say for this season
- has a mistake-free playing style, rarely takes bad decisions

Cons:
- he's a big defensive liability, any quick scoring PG can potentially light him up one-on-one
- can execute very well but is not as good of a creator, for himself or others
- not much of a fast-break player, prefers running a half-court offense

Bottom line:
from a merely technical standpoint, I believe he'd be a good fit for this Jazz team. He'd have more offensive talent around him than what he has with the current Raptors team (especially without Bargs), would have more open shots resulting in increased %'s, his teammates could probably hide his dreadful defense better. He'd work very well offensively with the likes of Big Al, Millsap and Favors. So, if I could just choose to have either him or Harris as the Jazz starting PG without any financial implication, I'd take him.

Having said that, if it came to a trade it would mostly depend on the plans that the FO has about our future starting PG. If they already have someone in mind it wouldn't really make sense to trade for a guy who, just like Harris, still has a season on his contract (and at a pretty expensive price -- Devin has 8.5 millions on his last season whereas Calderon would get around 12 millions as he has a 10% trade kicker). If they wanted to wait until next season to decide, then he could be a better stop-gap solution than Harris in the meantime, but I'd probably still require something from the Raptors to sweeten the deal considering the difference in their salaries.

I'd love to move Harris for either Calderon or Mo Williams.

All three need a change of scenery.

I had big hopes for Harris this season, but at this point I would trade for Calderon if it was straight up and depending on Calderon's contract which I haven't looked up.

My target is Mo. I think the Jazz need to work out a 3 team deal to get him here.

Hinrich+ Pick/filler> Clippers
Mo Williams> Utah

Atlanta upgrades at point guard
Utah upgrades at point guard
Clippers obviously give up best player, but are stacked at point guard and could use a shooting guard. Plus they get a pick or filler player. (A second rounder or two) maybe Marvin Williams would be a better option for both parties. Not sure how he's playing this year.

Interesting that the ESPN trade machine has both us and LAC losing 4 more games with that trade and ATL winning 3 more. Not sure of the math on that one... but I like the deal.

don't know why, but whenever i see this topic, i see "Toronto Dang-ling Chicken." makes me think of some sort of ethnic syrupy fried chicken 'n rice dish. with as good as orange chicken sounds, i don't think i would offer devin harris for it.

i'de rather just go to panda express.
