Will there be a Jazz trade by all star game?

I hope the jazz make an intelligent trade by/during the all star break. Bell, Miles, Howard, Harris maybe even Milsap available!

I want the Jazz to trade away Millsap or Jefferson, plus Harris plus Miles to get a starting PG like Rondo...

But I expect a very minor deal of Miles and Howard to contenders for picks

I don't think the Jazz will even make a trade this year.

I'm hoping for the Jazz to go on a losing streak so they feel compelled to trade some of the guys giving Favors, Kanter, and Burks more minutes.

Yes please. Westbrook would also be awesome, and maybe even Curry. I'd think about including the Golden State pick if necessary.

Even making a play for Steve Nash might be fun.

I think there will be at least one, probably two. When was the last year the Jazz didn't make a trade?

It is not likely that the Jazz will trade any of their bigs. Al Jefferson like it or not is a go to scorer and his influence on the post moves of the young bigs is already being noticed. I actually think it would be wise to keep him at least until next trade deadline. Let him take Favors and Kanter to San Jose this summer to work out, and refine the post moves they desperately need.

CJ will be traded like Brewer was 3 years ago because Burks deserves the time like Mathews did. Fortunately this time around we have burks locked up, but unfortunately CJ won't net us a pick.

Harris will go to anyone we can get an expiring for or a decent player with a longer contract. I just don't see any team wanting Harris unless we play a part in a three team deal where Harris is the filler. He is just playing that poorly. If he does go, expect to see Andre Miller and Watson tag teaming the point for us next year.

Why should anyone want those two to have Al's postmoves.

Do people want to see Favors and Kanter desperately fade from contact on every shot? I think Favors has taken too much from Al already by trying to take horrible jumphooks against double and triple teams. Al's moves are designed to set up for difficult shots, they're not great as is and would be terrible for Favors in particular.

C's fan here. If Ainge decides to blow it up in Boston, would you guys be interested in:

Pierce, Wilcox, J. O'Neal

FOR

Jefferson, Bell, 2012 GS 1st round pick

(Deal can't be completed until March 1st because of Wilcox's contract and Utah would have to use $3M from Okur's trade exception to make all of the contracts work.)

You'd add some veteran experience at PF/C with Wilcox and O'Neal and a go-to half court scorer in Pierce. Both Wilcox and O'Neal will be FA's after this season.

We'd add Jefferson to be our go-to low post scorer next year and add a pick in the 8-10 range in the upcoming draft, while letting Utah keep their own 1st round pick.

I'm not a big fan of moving Pierce because of what he means to the team, but I don't think the team can make a run at another championship as currently constituted and need to start the rebuilding process by moving Pierce and Allen. I don't see them getting Howard in the offseason, so they need to take a different approach. If Ainge doesn't like Big Al long-term, he'll have a nice expiring contract to work with next year.

What do you guys think about this potential deal?

Rondo instead of Pierce and I would do it, but I doubt Boston would.

pretty much. pierce does nothing for us as is. now if we were taking on pierce to clear cap while also getting rondo then yes i would be for that.

My geuss is that there will be zero--zip on the trade front for the Jazz. They have a general philosophy that in season trades are detrimental. Secondly they believe that they can contend this year, so they are not going to do any "finanicial relief" type of trades.

No one will give up good players for Devin or Al for cap relief, because they don't expire.

We are not going to give up any of our young promising players for veterans.

Raja is washed up. CJ has little if any trade value. And it appears that Jamaal Tinsley has wore out his welcome here, just like he did in Indiana. No one will take a chance on him.

The only possibilities are for Milsap or Jefferson to a team, who like the Jazz, think that they can make the playoffs, or contend with another piece or two. But no one comes to mind. I can't imagine that Portland would give us Wesly Mathews for Paul Milsap, but that type of trade seems like the only possibility given the Jazz's mindset.

Any sources or is that just pure conjecture? From all reports, Tinsley has been a fantastic locker room presence.

Either way, not sure why you'd expect a 3rd string PG to have any trade value in the first place.

you always play to win, the audacity to come in and say you want the team you supposedly support to lose is mind boggling to me. you always want your team to win, bottom line.

Whatever! Not if the team isn't winning! You do whatever you can to get them to be a winning team.
If they could do a Rondo and Allen if poss, for Millsap, Harris and the GS pick.
