Rondo rumor to Jazz
NY Newspaper says Rondo maybe traded to Jazz or Lakers. Again I am assuming its Millsap or Jefferson plus Harris with the Jazz getting Rondo plus filler (Like Oniel). The main stickler might be whether the Jazz are willing to throw in one of their #1 picks. Seems like Rondo's value has taken a hit bc of his attitude.

I might be blind but that is a link to a Jeremy Lin article. Then again, i didnt read past the first sentence after realizing the article has no validity if it is gonna state such garbage as this:
"Never mind that Jeremy Lin saved the Knicks’ season, runs the pick-and-roll better than John Stockton on his best day and can leap the Empire State Building in a single bound."

Re: Rondo rumor to Jazz
OMG I would love to get Rondo! Ofcourse we'd still need some damn shooters, but he would definitely get the most of our player's offense with his playmaking skills. Something like Al Jefferson/Harris for Rondo/O'Neal for work quite perfectly. It's a very nice package for Boston as they would get a top 10 center and a PG who in the right system can be a solid player, so a two for one, and both are short contracts. The trade checker blocks the trade though as we are sending a lot more salary out. Ofcourse without Harris the trade probably couldn't be made, unless we threw in a first round pick instead?
Al Jefferson/GS 1st for Rondo/J.Oneal?
Al Jefferson/GS 1st for Rondo/J.Oneal?

Reading comprehension for the win. I must say that the article has a very strange transition into the Celtics breakup though lol

Do it.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Re: Rondo rumor to Jazz
I don't really want him. Rondo is a great player but he has a D-Will type attitude and it's going to cost us some of our young guys, which I'm really not a fan of doing. I much rather keep our youngs and look at other options that can compliment our youth that we can nab with our vets.

What part of D-Will's attitude? The fierce competitiveness or the surliness?
If the alternative is an attitude like Devin Harris has, I'll take surly and hyper-competitive any day of the week.

Seriously I don't really understand these attitude issues being brought up. Any examples on what he's actually done?

I second this. I would like rondo as long as we can get it done with Harris and either milsap or Jefferson and the GSW pick if needed. I wouldn't send any of our young guys over. And if they want more I say no deal
And as far as his attitude goes I think thAts the risk you take with any star player. Stars like John Stockton are rare. Look at Karl Malone I think he had some attitude problems but we loved him because he helped us win. If the front office thinks rondo will help us win then we should get him. The difference with dwill was that his attitude wasnt a big deal until we started losing

i'd do it, but it's just fantasy, because boston isn't parting ways with rondo. Plus i dont' see big al coming back to the celtics.

Re: Rondo rumor to Jazz
I saw this on the Celtics forum, and I must say I don't love it, but I don't hate it. Definitely a combination of the two.
Rondo/Oneal for Harris/Kanter/Burks
On one hand he get a top 20 talent in Rondo who handles the role of a PG as good as anyone, especially in a classic Jazz system (which I guess is fading away fast). O'neal is obviously filler, but can fill the hole of Kanter, to some degree, atleast providing a back up center. It hurts to think what Kanter and Burks can become but I'm not sure they will ever become All-Stars, so exactly how difficult will they be to replace? Rondo is sure talent, with our two picks this year we should be able to replace some of the talent going out in this trade.

Re: Rondo rumor to Jazz
That's a no thanks for me. I'd rather just draft or sign a PG and keep Kanter and Burks.
I'm a big Rondo fan, but, I'm not willing to gut our youth movement to add him. If I can get him for Harris/Jefferson/Millsap/GS1st parts I'd do it. But, that's as far as I'd go.

After seeing Burks play the past few weeks no way I do that deal. I would rather trade Hayward than Burks. Got to keep Kanter as well. He plays beyond his years We also need to get rid of either Jefferson or Millsap in a deal becase they cant co-exist. I am more than willing to add the GSW pick with Millsap and Harris to get Rondo and Oneil or do Jefferson/Harris/Miles and GSW pick for Rondo/Allen/fillers

I would totally bummed about trading Burks at this point!! If this is at all true I hope he isn't one of the players involved!

Re: Rondo rumor to Jazz
There's already a thread on Rondo and his bad attitude.
Rondo to the Lakers maybe. To the Jazz no.
Rondo would not like coming to Utah period, so if he's throwing fits with Boston, how many would he throw here to get traded. Our young guys are our future. Drafting a PG is a lot better idea than buying one by mortgaging the future for a guy who would not want to be here.
Let's wake up. This is the NBA, not the fantasy basketball league.

Re: Rondo rumor to Jazz
According to Stephen A. Smith (who knows everything) Rondo can't deal with losing at this point in his career. You gotta like that kind of attitude, but I don't see us putting a team on the floor that wins a lot of games this year if we do this trade. That coupled with the fact that players hate SLKC (for some stupid reason) I think he would be miserable here.

The article quoted in the other thread has a lot more info in it than the NYC article mostly on the Nicks.

He might not mind coming here if the jazz can sell the "this is your team" pitch. If the jazz feel like he will make us better than we are now I think it's worth the risk. But if they do t think that he helps much more then forget about it.
