Personal feelings aside, an amazingly talented basketball player. The quintessential #2 guy on a championship team. Deron + Dwight would be all it's hyped up to be, I think.

Did his team win?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

D will had a great game but dont over look rondo.
Rondo's triple-double (18 points, 17 rebounds, 20 assists) only knock was his shooting but thats one hecka line for a PG.

Agree, Deron still the beast & best PG in entire NBA, 57 points is impressive but Rajon is the best solution for us for now, today and tomorrow...

Its about time Deron woke up. He has been half assing this entire season. If he was a real leader, the nets would be vying for the eastern conf playoffs.

After watching the Nets game, I'm convinced the Jazz should never have let D-Will go. They should have signed him to long term contract.

I wonder how many more games the Jazz would have won with D-Will?

Scoring 57 against Bobcats is something.
But Rondo's performance is more than that something.

Utah needs a player that helps other score than scoring himself. That definition fits more to Rondo.
Millsap + Jefferson + any more fillers for Rondo. Pass 2012-2013 season for development. For 2013-2014 Utah would be a contender.

I wrote that but I think it is not possible. Millsap + Jefferson would not be enough.

So the best is to gamble for a young PG, and pray. This is what Utah can do.

- There was about ZERO chance to resign Williams. I'm glad he's Nets problem now.
- Wonderful, really wonderful player when he's on the right basketball mood (wich is not as many times as you'd want him to...)
- If you've been watching Nets' games this season you'd know he's been playing a full lot of mediocre basketball...

I'd agree that Rondo's performance was more impressive than Deron's, or at least more uncommon, but I think you'd have to be crazy to choose Rondo over Deron. Whether for this team or any other. Deron scores and creates for others. Say what you will about Deron's attitude, but this notion some people around here have developed that Deron's a scoring point guard is patently absurd. He can obviously score, but he's a pass first guy. That's changed a bit in the last two years, but that has a lot more to do with the talent around him than who he is.

Deron might not be on Rondo's level as a passer, but he's very close and to say that his overall offensive game more than compensates for whatever negligible gap there is would be a massive, massive understatement . Rondo's clearly a better rebounder and defender than Deron, but the difference between the two on the offensive end, is my mind, is larger than the combined difference in those areas. I mean, honestly, the Nets' offense has been more efficient than the Celtics' this year. That just shouldn't be the case. For all his passing ability, Rondo's shortcomings as a shooter often make him an offensive liability.

All that said, I'd love to have Rondo on this team and I realize that he's a more realistic option than Deron.

I think both guys played extremely well last night. They were out of their minds. They both did things we all wished our former all star pg (haris) could. If we had a PG who could just do 15pts 10 ast and 5 rebound consistently and close a game out we'd be set to take on anyone.

maybe few tons of salt from Salt lake would finally satisfy C's :D some peps from this board would be perfect negotiations partners for ainge as he is trying to deal Rondo very hard from the beginning of season with no positive results

With Rondo you're almost playing 4 on 5 every offensive possession. The fact that dwill can stretch the floor is a huge advantage over rondo, and overwhelms the marginal difference in defense / passing. Dwill is the perfect compliment to nearly any other player, Rondo needs great shooters at 2-4 and their offense STILL might not be that efficient.
