So I just got this letter from the Jazz:



Its amusing to me that they are promoting this team as young and growing, yet our starting lineup consists of five older players that more than likely wont even be on the team in a year. Most of our young guys are getting about 15 minutes or less per night now.

Ty better hope that starting these guys leads to wins or this season is a double whammy (phrase courtesy of PK this am).

We lose games AND we don't develop our youth.

I think KOC really just needs to protect Ty from himself and move Al and/or Paul and move Howard. I think we are stunting the growth of our young guys.

It's no secret what I want. I want us to give the young guys starter minutes and win as many games with them as possible. I think we need our pick this year and I hope for the GSW pick.

That to me is the best plan.

Are we really in contention for the playoffs? Oddly enough I had a dream this morning that the Jazz were in the playoffs and up by 30 in game 1. Can't remember who we were playing. I do remember it was a morning game though, do they even have morning games in the playoffs?

Getting all the veterans good exposure before the trade deadline? I can only hope.

I'll deal with it for now, but if the trade deadline comes and goes, and we still have this exact lineup-- that's when I'll start getting angry.

I'll be using a Machete on someone after the trade deadline if it doesn't change...

This is what I've been telling myself, but why in the hell would he be putting Raja back in the starting lineup? No team is willing to trade for his bones. Started to get really frustrated with the lack of playing time for our youth. I'd rather loose games with them then squeak out a few extra wins and be a 7-8th playoff seed.

I'm ok with it. Hayward should have been playing and building chemistry with the rest of the young unit since day one.

At least with the rest of the lineup being what it is currently, I think that's a good point. I do like the idea of Hayward playing more with the young guys. I think it'll be good for him and for that unit both in the present and the future. It should allow Hayward to handle the ball more and I think it could be great for Favors. So far this year, we've put him in way too many low post isos and way too few pick-and-rolls. Playing with Hayward, who he seems to have good chemistry with, he should get to be in more pick-and-rolls, which plays to his current strengths a lot more than low post isos.

All that being said, I feel like a superior route to these objectives would be to abandon our current "8th seed or bust" approach; stop running so much offense through Al and Millsap; allow Hayward to handle the ball more in the starting lineup, start Favors and give he, Kanter and Burks more minutes. I know Ty and KOC are too shortsighted for any of these things to happen, though, so I can live with the move.

That will change very quickly if Hayward's minutes go down and/or Burks is cut out of the rotation. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be at all surprised if both of those things happened.

The funny thing is that we're infinitely more likely to make the playoffs with Hayward starting than Bell or Howard (my personal opinion).

Are college students losers for thinking about the future by potentially setting themselves up for a good job in the future instead of settling for a not good job at 18?

You are right man.

Starting Bell Al and Paul led us to the promise land last year. Why can't they this year too? Wtf was I thinking.

Winning everyone game is the main goal. Now who thinks we will win more games with Devin Harris, Raja Bell, Josh Howard, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson? Questionable. O well the good side of things is maybe we can play earl, hayward, cj, kanter and favors together. They will suck at the half court set but on the open court they'll be a good team.

I don't mind Hayward off the bench. Hayward is not a great rebounder and that is something our first unit struggles with. Howard at least crashes the boards and cuts so Al can sometimes pass. Hayward's drive and dish/pick and roll game is better suited to the second unit (Favors) than just feeding Al and standing around. It also helps our future team develop chemistry together. The thing that upsets me most is CJ getting the majority of the 4th wing minutes over Burks...

Based off the occupy wall street stuff my answer is; mostly.

Did CJ even play tonight? I don't recall him in the 2nd half.

I think he played the 1st half and burks played the 2nd. I really think cj is going to be traded. That way Hayward can back up Howard and burks will back up raja. I think burks is progressing so much that he deserves more time. And between cj and raja it is hard to know which one to keep but cj will be much easier to move especially because of his expiring contract.

It's like a brewer Matthews conundrum except its for the back up position
