Bell out vs Bull

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Sat Mar 10, 2012 10:11 pm

Bell out vs Bulls for "internal matter". I would assume he was either traded or had confrontation with Corbin such that he was suspended for a game...I guess it could also be a family issue but when its a family issue they usually call it a personal issue and not an internal matter.

I think it's because Kirilenko's wife is dead.

Argument with coach, maybe? I don't really understand they are calling it an "internal matter". That doesn't jive wih my brain.

Chicago — Jazz guard Raja Bell didn't fly with the team from Philadelphia to Chicago for a Saturday game against the Bulls, and coach Tyrone Corbin wouldn't officially comment about Bell's absence.

Utah has officially listed Bell as inactive versus Chicago due to an internal matter. When a player leaves a team for personal reasons, their absence is normally classified as such.

Messages left Saturday for Bell's agent, Herb Rudoy, were not immediately returned.

Corbin became slightly confrontational during a pregame media interview when asked about Bell's status and eventually refused to answer further questions about him.

i would now assume the Jazz may try to trade Bell to a team like the LAC for hopefully bledsoe...If we cant trade him then I would assume Bell would go to end the bench allowing Hayward and Burks more playing time.

If it's not a trade, why wouldn't they just come out and say what it's about? If he did something disruptive internally, then wouldn't it be a suspension and not "internal reasons"????? Just weird... very weird....

if there is anything wrong with his family, they would say personal reasons, right? this is internal reasons, but not a team suspension. smells fishy.

Brian Smith of tribune is reporting that the center of the problem has to do with a conflict between Corbin and Bell. Go look at his twitter. Kind o explains it.

yes. here is the article...
http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsjazzn ... r.html.csp
A confrontation between Bell and Corbin — who've long had an on-off relationship — appears to be at the heart of the situation, and O'Connor didn't mention any other Jazz players or team personnel when asked about the internal matter.
Bell started for the Jazz on Friday during a road defeat to Philadelphia and spoke with the media afterward. However, Corbin said the guard wasn't with the team for a normal pregame meeting Saturday morning in preparation for the Bulls. The exact time Bell left the Jazz hasn't been specified.
While Bell and Corbin at times have been at odds, the second-year coach has consistently stuck by the 12-year veteran since taking over February 2010 for Jerry Sloan.

The Jazz have recently been involved in general trade talks and have an open ear as a Thursday deadline approaches. But the organization isn't willing to sacrifice its long-term future for short-term gain.
"Sometimes addition is subtraction, and that's what we don't want to do," O'Connor said.
Many NBA teams are equally hesitant, since there's little time for practice and player development during the lockout-shortened season. The Jazz (19-21) only have 26 games left this year, and less than seven weeks remain before Utah's regular-season finale April 26 against Portland.
Overall, O'Connor is pleased with the progress he's seen from the Jazz — especially the development of youngsters Derrick Favors, Alec Burks, Enes Kanter and Hayward — and believes an 11th-place Utah team still has a strong chance to make the Western Conference playoffs.

KOC might not be able to trade Bell by the March 15th deadline, but he's not likely to be back next year.

If I had a choice I would prefer Bell off the bench and CJ traded. Bell has some value that way. That might be part of the problem. Corbin wanted to do that and Bell blew up. it's hard to tell.

Bell has not been happy in Utah.

Just trade his ass. Completely inexcusable for a veteran like him to be pulling a stunt like this.

i dont think bell is trying to "pull a stunt." i think talking to corbin and oconnor behind closed doors is a professional thing to do. benching bell was corbins doing.

if bell truly is unhappy on this team, the play of burks makes him pretty expendable. i wouldn't mind getting only a pick back if that is the worse case scenario.

If he's causing issues with the team, trade him for a '92 ford festiva. I beleive that works in the espn trade machine. Dollar for dollar, that's not a bad trade for the jazz....

I doubt what he said is fit for print. At the minimum it probably had an F and U in there somewhere.

He was not happy about his playing time since his injury. I also think Corbin wanted him to come off the bench but wound up having Hayward do it since Hayward tends not to flip off Corbin.

Raja was sent home for an "internal matter" meaning KOC was out of town and Corbin put a pleasant spin on Raja was suspended. First comes suspension then comes trade.
