Trade Utah-Philly-NJ Millsap/Iggy/Morrow

UTA Out: Millsap/CJ
UTA In: Iggy

PHI Out: Iggy
PHI In: Millsap/Morrow

NJ Out: Morrow
NJ In: CJ

NJ does this because they need to clear a little more cap to sign both Howard and Deron in the off season. Cj is Derons best friend from Utah so they hook him up with a buddy to make the losing at the end of the year palatable until his real running mate comes and if they want to resign CJ on the cheap they can next year. CJ expires after this year.

Philly does this because they get out of a ton of contract and get two real high quality guys for their best player. We love Millsap. He is our Captain and overall best player. We hate to give him up but we recognize the young bigs need to run. Millsap was close to making the all star team in the west and might be making it in the east for Philly. He is a total Collins guy. Philly also picks up a cheap contract and great shooter in Morrow. Both guys expire after next year and Philly saves on Iggy's final year when the new CBA kicks in. Millsap and Morrow might be some of the best contracts in the NBA.

UTA does this because they need perimeter D and need to give the young bigs some time. They can take the cap hit in year three because all their guys are essentially on rookie contracts. Also the call has to be made at some point if it is going to be Al or Millsap that get signed after next year and and I think Al's size and superior low post game make him the choice for Utah.

I have coveted Iggy for a long tine. The dude is just a stud. I see an eventual line up of:

Burks PG 20ppg/6rebs/6assts
Hayward SG 12ppg/5rebs/4assts
Iggy SF 14ppg/6rebs/5assts
Favors PF 14ppg/9rebs/2.5blks
Jefferson C 20ppg/11rebs/1.5blks

Pretty beastly offensively and defensively.

Sounds like a hell of a deal for Philly, hell a highway robbery.

The value player wise is equal, the issue is salary. The whole issue of keeping enough money to make sure we keep one of the young guys who pans out weighs heavy. I think Sap could be one of the guys we reward though.

I prolly say ok to this though. Iggy replaces what we lost with AK going sour. At worst he replaces CJ for more money.

So Philly is suppose to trade their overall best player and leader of the team for two guys they don't need?

Not saying its horrible value but what do you do with elton brand who is the starter at PF and they got enough guards as it is especially with lou will chucking up everything in sight. Just make zero sense for philly.

And NJ gets stomach pains from laughing too hard. Morrow for CJ? CJ's value is really low and if NJ really wanted him which I seriously dought they would; they could get him for little to nothing. There won't be a high price tag on a 25 year old who still plays like a rookie.

Philly's stayin put this deadline, why would they make a move this unnecessary given how awesome they've been this season?

To bad we didn't move on Iggy last summer, when Philly wanted to move him. With the synergy that is going on between Iggy and Evan Turner, Iggy is now going to come at a much higher price. Nio way Philly does this trade!

Just like always. Shoulda moved Booz for something. Shoulda moved AK for Marion. It's always the same. Lack of a backbone. Iggy and a little more Fes would have solved a lot of problems and may have convinced Deron to stay. Probably for the price of AK and a pick or something. If not just AK straight up. Ugh. I want to see them have some balls again and ship out Millsap before he gets overpaid and walks for nothing. This is what will happen next year. We won't want him back in front of Favors, and he won't want to be on the bench (barring some injury that permanently sets him back or some crazy crap), and shouldn't be.

It's so flipping obvious...And it's not as if Millsap hasn't become Carlos Boozer with more occasional hustle plays. Let's be serious. We don't need him. We can find a rebounder with a chip on their shoulder again. Millsap's value will NEVER be as high as it is today and tomorrow. He is an expiring contract come Friday. Our front office has never caught on to the value of that 'extra year'. The expiring turns into a 'well, we'll just sign him in the offseason' type of situation 9 times out of 10. Ugh.

It's not just the Jazz front office. I think that I made 2-3 Iggy trade proposals last summer, and they were shot down by nearly every one in the forum.

I'm with ya, was really crossing my fingers for an Iggy move last year. I figured that would be the move, or blow it up. Wicked glad they at least did that.
