I hope he doesnt coach again, especially this soon. It reinforces that the Jazz pushed him out.
But as for NY that would be funny, he would kill Crymello.

That would be a mess, IMO. Maybe Sloan from ten years ago would be good there, but now it is hard to see them respecting a crazy old man! He would definetely have to have Phil Johnson there too.
I'm sure Sloan would like to coach Lin, and Stoudemire somewhat, but Carmelo is the EXACT opposite of a Sloan-like player. Therefore I think these rumors are BS

Sloan will be a good coach as long as he has the unwavering support of his franchise. If he has that, his players have nothing on him, and its either play and get paid or sit and dont get paid ever again.

Sloan ain't going to New York, unless he's had a stroke.
There's no place to park his tractors, he's got a wife and a step kid in school here in Utah and apts cost $1500 a sq ft.
Then there's Camelo!

He sold all his tractors. His wife and step kid can stay in SLC if they want.

I would love to see Sloan go coach the Knicks. Too bad he'd be running into arguably two of the most talented modern era teams in the Wade/LeBron/Bosh Heat and soon to be D-Will/Howard Nets.
Hell, I'd love to see Sloan go coach anywhere at this point. I miss the man.

He didn't sell all of his tractors, just most of them. No way would I leave a wife half my age anywhere I wasn't.
It still doesn't answer the question of why Sloan would take on Camelo who is going to be as bad or worse than D-Will.
Maybe the man's ego is too big to let go.

In the last 5 years with the Jazz, Jerry Sloan was a terrible head coach past his prime living in the past unable to relate to todays players. Now we have Corbin, Sloan JR. who has done a good job in practice but (like Sloan) a terrible game manager who lacks innovation.
New York would enjoy Sloan bc his credentials for half a season then it would all unravel. SLoan stay retired and dont tarnish your career by showing you were never a good coach to begin with.
Coach of the Knicks has to be a high profile guy! Maybe a guy with alot of rings!

Harpring said during the suns game he would think Sloan would be interested. Not what I would have thought, but he probably knows jerry better than me.

I'm absolutely amazed to the severity and swiftness of this rumor. Why in the hell would it make any sense? Melo and Amare, JR Smith and New York? HAHAHAHA
YEAH EFFING RIGHT. Jerry Sloan? People think they'll listen to Jerry Sloan? It's not 1988...

Yeah, lets hope for Sloan coach Crymelo.
One player that I really wanted to see Sloan coaching was that guy that tried to make a basket against his own team, just to get a rebound. Ricky Davis.
Sloan said at the time (I had to Bing it, of course) "DeShawn fouled him; I would have fouled too," Sloan said later. "I would have knocked him on his a--.
"If you try to embarrass a team after a 20-point lead, you're (expletive) right — I'd knock him down. . . . I was glad DeShawn tried to knock him down. They can put me in jail, or whatever they want, for saying that, but that's the way it is."
I miss Sloan.
