Evan Turner..

Post#1 » by LongLiveIverson » Thu Apr 12, 2012 4:06 am

You guys are loaded at the front court. Sixers are loaded at the guard position...

Derrick Favors straight up for Evan Turner and a 2013 First

Draft Damian Lillard at 9 and target a do it all forward like Terrence Jones at 13

C. Al Jefferson - Inside Presence/Enes Kanter - first big off the bench, rebound, toughness
F. Paul Milsap - 3rd option/Jeremy Evans - Athletic Reserve
F. Gordan Hayward - Athletic wing scorer/Terrence Jones - Athletic 3, can provide mismatch at the 4
G. Evan Turner - Do it all, pass rebound/Alec Burks - Outside shooting
G. Damian Lillard - explosive scorer, playmaker/Devin Harris - Spark off bench

Favors is a nice player but drafting a guy like Terrence Jones who can play the 4 or 3 would easily replace him. This would also clear up for big time minutes for Kanter. Evan Turner is a rebounding machine and willing passer, would fit in perfectly next to a shoot first guard like Lillard or Austin Rivers

some people think I am nuts but I dont trade Favors for almost no one in the league. Defensively, he is that good. Alonzo Mourning and Dwight Howard combo. Allstar year in year out probably begining with next year.

There is no one on the sixers team I trade Favors in exchange. In fact there are no two players on the sixers team that I trade Favors.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Yea it kills me everyday to think we could have had Favors, Cousins or Monroe..literally kills me inside.
The thing is I think Turner can be a stud, whenever he plays over 30 mins he either grabs 10 rebounds, or has like 8 assists. Doug Collins just has a huge grudge against him..I mean comon Jodie Meeks starting ahead of Evan Turner. I just feel like you guys or the Hornets would be a great place for him to come in and produce

The funny thing is I was just wondering today if there was a way the Jazz could acquire Turner and have him play Point, but I wouldn't trade Favors for him.

Burks, the 13th pick, a salary dump, and maybe a conditional future first (lottery protected).

On second thought, I am just being a fickle fan and am down on Burks at the moment. Burks and our 13/14 or Burks and a salary dump.

Turner and a 1st for Favers is a very reasonable offer. I'd consider it if I were the Jazz front office.

I'm not sure I'd trade Burks straight up for Turner, much less Favors. Burks has struggled lately, but he's shown a ton of potential and his rookie numbers are better than Turner's were. I also feel like Burks is a better compliment to Hayward than Turner would be, given that Burks is more scoring-minded, while Turner seems more similar to Hayward. I like Turner, so I'd definitely consider trading Burks for him, but I'm not sure I'd do it.

The pick is probably in the 15-20 range. I like Favors a lot more than Turner and we are loaded at the SG position, with Hayward and Burks. I like Hayward more than Turner at this point, and Hayward is best suited as a SG. We are front court heavy for another year, but we wont keep both Al Jefferson and Millsap beyond next year. Good try, but I don't think you can convince many people around here with that proposal.

Never.

Plus, not to sound like a dick, but we already have Hayward who is exactly what guys were hoping to get in Turner.

Posts like these make me so grateful that we have KOC as our GM.

So we want a late first and a four year college player that is no better than either Hayward or Burks RIGHT NOW?

Does he help our shooting problem? Nope. He shoots an awesome 23% from the 3-pt line this year, 27% for his career and he cant play off the ball.

Not to mention Favors will likely, yes I said likely, not hopefully, or might be, a top 5 defensive player in his prime. Favors anchors the defense when he is in there and his offensive arsenal grows all the time. Not to mention he is still very young, 8th youngest player in the league.

Horrible trade. It doesn't help us now or in the future. Awful.

Well, maybe I was a bit too impressed with his numbers when he was used as a PG there in Philly.

I do think Evans still has a lot of upside though, and might make a good PG in the league.

I thought we could have worked a big al deal with you guys. I don't like the idea giving up favors for turner. favors is young but the kid is getting better, i noticed his passing has improved a lot lately. turner i'm not huge on, i was expecting bigger things from him this season.
