Favors is getting screwed

Favors has been screwed his entire career thus far:
1) A highly drafted player that gets put on the trade block from day one. He plays the first half of the season wondering if he will be a Net or not.
2) He gets traded at Mid-Season to Utah (I know its a nice place but no player prefers to play for Utah over a bigger market team);
3) After the trade, a young guy not even 21 needs to find a new place to live and gets spotty minutes for the rest of the year for a team that loses 20 of the last 27;
4) He is unable to get better in summer league because of the strike;
5) He performs well enough in camp to earn the starting PF position only to lose it 3 games into the season;
6) He gets inconsistent minutes throughout the year despite being by far the Jazz best defensive player until Big Al grandmother dies upon which he gets tons of minutes and performs awesome, but when Big Al comes back he is back to inconsistent minutes;
7) He finanally starts getting good minutes late in the year bc of the use of the Big Lineup even though many fans had called for that lineup all year long;
8) He is awesome in the key win over the Suns to get the Jazz into the playoffs but hardly plays in game 1 bc the Big Lineup is not used again by our village idiot Ty Corbin;
9) Finanly, injuries spots open up on the Olympic team and guys from his draft class are being comsidered instead of him only bc they have gotten more minutes than him even though he is much more talented than they are.
This is driving me crazy seeing what this kid has been through in his short career. Corbin is the guy that can believe in him and even call the Olympic committee and tell him watch this guy in the playoffs. Play him 35 min per game in the playoffs. He is exactly what you need. He deserves his coaches and fans support bc he has been a true professional thus far. I am not sure but I might not have pulled a Watson, Bell, or Howard and told the coach Im the best player you got, play me or trade me.

Just as long as it's not Jefferson's girlfriend. We can't afford another injury...

I think anyone with eyes should be able to see that we need Favors on the floor to have a chance to win.
So, yeah, I agree with HolyToledo.
Can't say that everyday.

Yeap, that's a fact. It seems if you're a "veteran" you can live making mistakes, but if you're young you're condemned almost at the first couple ones.
Just watch youngsters like Leonard, Faried, Parsons and see what happenes when you have a good talented, athletic young player and allow him to play...
I guess coach still have the excuse of the Spurs being a superb team...

Did anyone else notice how much confidence the Spurs young guys had last night?! I was shocked to see that when they missed a shot, the next time down the floor they weren't scared to shoot again. I think that is a testament to a new-school type coaching that I wish we had. I hoped Corbin would get away from being a confidence-killer like Sloan always was, but he is definetely doing it to Favors. Luckily they have given Hayward a much longer leash, but that's probably due to injuries to veterans at his position.

Yes, there's a point there... you're overvaluing experience if you stick with it when it's obvious it's not working...
Old-school coaching includes kicking some vets a$$e$ if you have to coach... next game give the vet starters 5 minutes to get it going and if they're not getting the job done then sit them and play Tinsley, Burks, Carroll, Favors, Evans, Kanter, Ahearn... they won't be worst that those minus 30 stats earned by vets and at least it would be fun to watch...

Along with every Jazz fan, and anyone with a pair of eyes, Favors limited time is just unbelievable.
From Stein article:
Corbin has some questions to answer, too, after playing the brutish Favors for just 21 minutes in Game 2,
http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2012/st ... ation-jazzAnd Hollinger pretty much sums up how I feel about the situation:
Utah: Utah just needs to win the next two by a combined 46 points and it's right back in this thing. The Jazz's pick-and-roll defense has been abused by San Antonio's guards, which isn't a big surprise if you look at the offensive and defensive rankings of the two sides. For Utah, the next step is to start thinking about A) how to do this much, much differently, and B) next season.
One solution is to start Alec Burks on the wing for an ineffective Josh Howard. Burks is the more capable offensive player, and while defense has been a problem in the first two games, the Jazz also have failed to score at a respectable rate.
Beyond that, it's Derrick Favors time. Here's an amazing stat: Favors has played 47 minutes in this series and is a plus-6. The other 49 minutes the Jazz are minus-52. Granted, garbage time influenced that stat a bit, but the guy is rapidly becoming an absolute beast on defense. The conclusion is to put Favors out there early and often -- perhaps even start him, with Paul Millsap at the 3 or coming off the bench.
It squeezes the vets, but Howard and DeMarre Carroll aren't part of the future and aren't helping the present much either. At this point, the Jazz have nothing to lose by going with the kids.
Why is Ty so clueless and unable to see what everyone in the world i can see? Are Al, Paul, & Howards feelings above everything else?
I am at a loss.

Really hate to read this. Many of the jazz fahs think that Favours is super mega star in the making.
Give him 40 mins. He will give you everything 20+20 + 5 + rings. Nah.
He is not Dwight Howard. He's max is 20 + 13 + 2 = is this a supers tats? No.
Hate to read. That we loose and lost many games that mins of Derrick were low.
And if Big Al troubles with family would last not just few days but a month. We ended up with higher seed.
Why every one loves Derrick Favours so much? But can't see that he is not able to make consistant plays game and game out.
P.S i like him. But i think he needs more time to develop. And i dont't think that he will make an all star game his entire career.

16 pts., 12 rebounds and elite defense from a big man would be the cornerstone of a contender, assuming there's a coach smart enough to use him the right way.
