Milsap at SF, with Jefferson and Favors is our most effective lineup. Not too excited about trading Milsap for Iggy though.

Millsap can play the 3, however he is not respected as a long-distance shooter (fairly or not) which kills our spacing and he isn't fast enough to guard the quicker 3s in the league. That being said, when he is at the 3 the rebounding rate goes through the roof IIRC, and generally our defense is much more effective.

Would a full season of Millsap as a starting SF work? IMO only if the guards can consistently spread the floor.

this isnt about a trade idea....was just inquiring about Millsap's ability/effectiveness at playing the 3.
am involved in a long going franchise league, and landed blake griffin, but wanted to keep Millsap around... figured if he could give 15 at PF and 15 at SF,hed still be a valuable piece.

love his rebounding and mid range shooting

This. If the two guards were shooters, I definitely think it could work. He actually has a decent outside shot, but not reliable enough for him to be a go-to option on the outside.

He cannot play the SF position full time...... In spurts he can be effective......

Yeah he's reliable enough that shooting the long-range shots doesn't hurt the team, but not enough to keep the defense honest, which leads to the paint being a little more packed.

i think he could be a full time 3 if he dedicated an entire offseason to work on his shooting and dropping some weight. he can shoot, pass, dribble, post, rebound, and cut. all things you like from that position.

to be honest, i thought after 2010-2011 3 point shooting. He will shoot more in 2011-2012.

And the beginning of the season was in this direction.
I think that Millsap can shoot 3s at 30-34% range.
And don't know why he is not doing this. Maybe coach TY told him not to fall in love with long bombs.

I think sad here guys. he must trade paul. he is not sf. We need number 1 hero favors become star and he can. I know. Paul cant take favor minutes, we must stop this!

if u search a full time SF, Sap is'nt your best option, but he can be really effective used in a big lineup for some mins
