Kanter and Burks @ P3

Saw this somewhere else and thought I'd share. Apparently Kanter is one strong mutha.
Just finished taking Utah Jazz big man Enes Kanter through his initial assessment at P3. Enes is an absolute beast, and at age 20 already one of the strongest NBA players that we have tested. His lower extremity bilateral force characteristics are very symmetrical in dynamic movement....Enes takes too long to reach peak force and needs to improve his hip extension, lower extremity power/acceleration and eccentric adaptation. He also reaches instead of drives when accelerating in all planes. We are very confident that we can improve these qualities, and enable Enes to become a much more explosive athlete on the basketball court.

Don't know how much of a difference these guys can make, but if they can make Kanter into a guy that actually explodes off the floor instead of having to gather and launch, it will be f***ing over.

Does all that hip extension, eccentric adaptation stuff mean that with some proper exercises he'll play above the rim? If so, he could be a beast.

It was fun to watch Kanter push veterans around on the floor and then watch the look on their face afterward.
Watch him against Nowitski and Kaman on YouTube. Their facial expressions are pretty entertaining.

In the simplest terms, yes.
It's saying that he doesn't have a lot of explosive leg/lower body power. It should be easy to work on considering his age... I'm not worried about it. I thought the reaching instead of driving comment was interesting... that's more of a technique thing though.

Me too. It's actually a great way to describe the way he moves. There's something about him that screams 'not using what you have.' For example, when he gets a run, he gets up really well. Its just....weird. But you get the feeling that its there and he's just not using it.
This will be fascinating to see develop.

this is not really anything new kanter has always been dubbed since the draft as a below the rim player. It screams out when you see him take 5 seconds to gather travel and go up. Hes shows alot of power just not the quickness nor the explosiveness to finish, its expected of a rookie who missed a year of ball. If he improves those key elements and a couple of go to moves down low he'll be good.

Nobody shoved that rookie around ...they couldn't.
Just watch when a Jazz shoots......and Kanter takes two steps towards under the rim.....he squats and blocks out......and the opponent tries to shove him, realizes he won't move and they look a bit helpless.
He doesn't move....you cannot bully him.
I hope P3 can use their technology to help him gather, explode, accelerate and maximize his moves.
Kanter is not goofing around on vacation. He is paying to train at the best places. His work ethic is great and he is already thought to be one of the strongest people they ever evaluated.

..
Exactly. He needs to learn from Hakeem the Dream.
Kanter is motivated....he pays to go to Glover's camp and P3. Underkanter is clearly motivated and has a strong desire to get better.
