Brian T. Smith‏@tribjazz
Whether Lillard's taken before No. 8 will likely impact any attempt made by Jazz to move up in first round of #NBA draft and select him

Maybe I am making too much of this (particularly since there is so little Jazz news to latch onto), but does anyone else wonder why there is such specific information (Lillard, before 8th pick) in this tweet? Could Smith have some inside knowledge that a trade could happen with one of the #8+ teams in the draft if Lillard is still available?

Detroit has the 9th pick, they need a PF (could be their missing link) and Milsap would be better than any PF available in this years class at #9.

Detroit is missing a lot of links. Love Monroe and Knight though.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Detroit needs to a tall athletic shotblocker next to Monroe....... That's not Paul Millsap......

The higher the pick, the more expensive it would be to trade up, that's the scenario here. Utah doesn't want to give up an arm and leg to get Lillard is the likely scenario.

Do all teams get connected to locally tied players as much as the Jazz do?
