Harris/ Williams DONE

Post#3 » by Spottieottie » Mon Jul 2, 2012 11:04 pm

Shoulda gotten a first rounder. I don't like this at all , Williams has sucked most years in his career

My initial thought was that the Jazz should get a pick as well, though full details have yet to emerge.

Yeah, just what I posted in the rumor thread. Seems like the Jazz take on extra future salary; and in a trade of two players of somewhat equal reputation that would tip the scales in the Hawks' direction.

I like it. I like Mo starting better than Harris. Now we just have to get rid of raja....

Yes we do. Because if we don't, we'll see Burks ride the pine, and that's unacceptable.

Im ok with the trade as he helps a need of outside shooting and getting rid of Harris but I would have hoped we dumped raja in the deal or got a future pick.

Why in the world would anybody give a first round pick for Devin freaking Harris???? Thats nuts...

Im shocked at what they got for him, and Williams contract is not long at all. This year, with a reasonable player option for next year. As far as talent goes, Harris is what he is while Williams is younger, and in my opinion with a little structure has a much higher ceiling. I think this is a very good deal considering all the circumstances.

Hey guys ATL fan here, just wanted to fill you guys in on Marvin, hes a good player whos shown flashes of brilliance during his days in Atlanta but has never been consistant so the coaches just put him in the corner all game where he was sort of a sniper, hes a good defender and I just think he needs a change of scenery into an offense thatll really utilize him, much luck next season

Would have been nice to at least make Atlanta take Bell off our hands. Oh well; Marvin is a guy our front office has always liked and he can be a solid 3 and D guy. Definitely an improvement over the Howard/CJ pu pu platter.

Yeah, first rounder is too much. I was hoping for a second rounder.

Marvin has a two year deal with the second as a player option. Making 8.2 mil this year and a 7.5 mil player option next year. I would be willing to bet that he opts out of the player option so he can get a longer termed deal somewhere.

What are you guys complaining about? I swear, some of you just can't be pleased by anything KOC does...

This is an amazing trade for the Jazz, even if Marvin opts into his deal next year.

This is a pretty boring deal. I don't think Marvin has been in the right situation in Atlanta, but I'm not sure this is a good spot for him, either. He's pretty unremarkable in every way.
