Lowery? Why didnt we?

Im am shocked Lowery went so cheap to Toronto...Just a #1 pick. I consider him the 4th best PG behind Dwill, Rondo, and Paul. I would have given up the GSW and the Jazz pick next year to get him and not gotten Mo Williams. The league GMs were sleeping on this guy and Toronto got him way too cheap.

There are some question marks about his character, he really clashed with McHale, but he has about to like.

Maybe "the league GMs" were duly alarmed by his season end diva act, leaving only the truly desperate teams willing to give up valuable assets to acquire him in a trade. And btw, you must have forgotten about Westbrook, among others. Lowery the 4th best PG in the L? Quite an interesting opinion.
For the Jazz, the last thing they need is a power tripping player when the head coach has yet to establish any strength or style in player/coach relations.

4th best! Kyle begs to differ.

If you seriously think that Lowry is better than:
Westbrook
Rose
Nash
Irving
Parker
and probably
Steph Curry
Wall
I really don't know what to say. Lowry is decent, but not great by any stretch of the imagination.

I put alot of these guys above him as well,
Mo Williams
Lawson
Monta Ellis
Tyreke Evans
Brandon Jennings
Ricky Rubio

It is pretty upsetting that Lowry went so cheap. He was definitely worth the GSW 2012 first rounder, and that is essentially what the Raptors are paying for him.
I can understand the concerns based on Lowry taking his complaints to the press, but McHale is a border line pathalogical liar. Some might call McHale an expert in spin, but he is well over the line IMHO.
That being said. the fact that we got Mo for free is probably better for us as we get to keep the GSW 2013 pick.

Dragic played behind Lowry. Lowry is a lot better than both of these.

Dragic's career trajectory will take him past Lowry this season and each one subsequent. He's also not trouble in the locker room. Would much rather have Goran (and at least six other guys) before Lowry.

Lowry is good, but Mo is better. It's easier too for the Rockets to exile a player to a perennial Eastern door mat than to a playoff team in conference.

LOL 4th best in the league, better than ROSE (!!!), WESTBROOK (!!!), NASH, IRVING, AND PARKER?!?!?! Have you lost your damn mind? Unbelievable. It should probably be some indication to you that the Raptors tried everything they could to get Nash before conceding to Lowry.
I'm happy with Mo.

Lowery would've fit in well with Kantor, Haywood, Burke and Favours.

No he didn't. Lowry got injured, Dragic became the starter, Lowry came back... and Goran remained the starter.

Which is likely the reason Lowry hates HcHale. But when Lowry was healthy Dragic was second string. And they don't just geuss at that kind of stuff they go head to head hard in practice.
Totally geussing here, but based on McHales history, he probably made up a million excuses why Lowry wasn't starting when he came back instead of just telling the truth. Not saying that McHale shouldn't have had Dragic continue to start over a player returning from injury when they are in a flow and in a playoff hunt, but I'm guessing that McHale just handled it extremely poorly.

If they weren't "guessing at stuff" when they ran Lowry, does that meant they DID start guessing at stuff by sticking with Dragic?

He's like, 10th best, and still not a Jazz-type PG.

Returning a player from injury is a delicate issue for two reasons:
1) the intensity of play (I.e., playoff hunt) can increase the probability of injury (I.e. Memo), so for a valuable player you approach it carefully,
2) if the team has been on a roll and they have a near term goal (I.e., playoff hunt) then bringing back even a terrific player is often approached strategically.
If Lowry had remained with the Rockets, I believe that he would have started again ove Dragic. Lowry is a terrific player.
