OJ Mayo?

Post#1 » by JazzFan32 » Fri Jul 6, 2012 9:33 pm

Hey guys, I've been watching these posts for years now, and wanted to post this and see what all of your guy's thought are. So please be gentle. With the addition of Mo and Marvin, its clear the jazz are trying to address there biggest weakness, shooting. I like the new additions so far but I'm surprised OJ Mayo's name hasn't come up. I know were pretty stacked all ready at the wing position but I feel adding a player like Mayo will give us another player who can hit the open jumper, handle the ball, create his own shot and plays for others, plus another player with decent defensive capabilities. His a career .375 percent 3 pt shooter, and like Marvin, many believe his underperformed based on all the hype this guy had out of college. I think coming to a team like the Jazz will help revamp his career, and give us another athletic scorer. The only downside I see is the Jazz will probably be looking at using their entire MLE plus what's leftover of their trade exception, and the fact that he will taking minutes form Alec Burks.

Starting lineup:
Mo Williams, OJ mayo, Marvin Williams, Al Jefferson, Derrick Favors

Bench:
Earl Watson, Alec Burks, Gordon Hayward, Paul Millsap, Enes Kantor

Benchwarmers:
Tinselly, Raja, Murphy, Carrol, and Evans.

Thoughts?

I wanted him until we got Marvin Williams and Mo Williams.

I think he is out of our price range anyways.

I'm pretty sure I read that Mayo-to-Boston stalled because he wouldn't accept the MLE. I think he's out of our price range. I also think we're pretty set or the money at the wing positions for the upcoming season, unless something amazing comes along in a trade.

On another note, welcome!
