Interesting post from Brian T. Smith where he talks about Jazz trying to S&T miles to orlando for Jason Richardson or Bulls for Rip Hamilton.

Yeah I would be pretty pissed if we did either of those.

I wouldn't mind a healthy Rip on a one year deal. Jason Richardson on a two year 12 million with a 3rd year player option is too much in my opinion. Rip could help Alec without hindering him too much. I think it also depends where they are going to play Hayward the most at the 2 or the 3.

Just let him go. The worst thing we could do here is S&T CJ for someone else's bad contract.

I think Smith is just making this crap up to fill space.
Just let CJ go for nothing. It's not like he gave us anything while he was here (unless you count 7 consecutive rookie seasons something of value). He's not going to net us a pick or vital role player.

I agree. The team has plenty of supporting characters now. If something else happens, I expect it to bring in a longer term, important piece for the future, and to involve one of our surplus bigs. Hamilton and Richardson aren't going to be of any use.

I'd be ok with one of those options--though I probably would prefer Rip to Richardson if I had a choice. I think the depth chart looks ok now but we don't really have depth if people hit a slump or encounter injuries. Rip has 2 years at $5 mill each which is not bad given his production. He is a better option than CJ was and the competition will push the rookies/young guys to improve and earn their time. He would be great curling off the screens in the Jazz offense.

Sounds like Chicago could be interested in CJ Miles.
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012 ... -bench-mobNot sure if it is the writer saying it could be a good idea or the team.

Rip would be alright but I doubt he'd be interesting in playing for Utah at this point. If the Jazz traded for J-Rich's deal I would puke, he's declining at the speed of light

I say just let him walk, but if we could send him somewhere like Charlotte for DJ Augustin (or any other place for just about anything) that's obviously better than letting him walk. Maybe a team with a TPE that just needs depth would send out a second so they don't need to use their MLE?
EDIT: and if it's Chicago, just bring back Korver or Brewer.

Korver yes. Brewer no. Dread a tins, brewer, carroll, favors, kanter lineup who's going to be able to shoot? :shudder:
