I have been very impressed by this 7 foot center in the Summer league. He needs to be on the Jazz roster next year. He is no stiff and is able to even drive to the hoop and is definitely a force defensively. He had an incredible dunk today that guys that size simply dont do. He is also mature at age 26 willing to come off the bench and provide support as a 3rd string center. Just watching him the last 2 days I wonder what these NBA scouts are loookng at bc I think he has lottery type skill.

If he was doing was he is doing at the age of 18 then he would have lottery type skill. As it stands right now, he is a 26 year old center who is averaging 2 points per game in the summer league.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, this is after all summer league. Guys are trying to earn a roster spot to whatever team offers them a contract, so it's only natural that you'll see guys who are virtually unknowns try to stand out somehow. Mejri has shown some nice skills, but has also made some bone headed plays. With the Jazz already stacked with big guyss, I don't really see him fitting into any of the Jazz future plans.

Mejri has good shotblocking skills and size, but that's all he has to offer at the ripe old age of 26. Other than that, he has shown very poor coordination and is really raw. This is facing 2nd string summer league players also, so I doubt he makes it on an NBA roster when a guy like Haddadi is better and can't find a way onto the floor for the Grizz.

Yeah, two summer league games is always a great indicator of a player's NBA ability

The dunk looked sexy but there wasn't a huge degree of difficulty involved.

And those were his only 2 points, by the way. I don't get it...

You cant teach 7 foot tall! Especially when he is 7 foot tall and can move around well. Someone in the league will be very happy to have him on their roster.

He moves really well for a guy his size and has tons of defensive potential but his offense is extremely raw for a 26 year old. Camp invite will suffice... highly doubt a roster spot.

Mejri was recently named a 2012 All-Belgian League Center and Defensive Player of the Year.

I think Kanter has a pretty good practice partner already.

I'm always amazed at the silly s**t posted on this and other sites.

Mejri worked out for the Knicks. They passed on him so he didn't play for them in the summer league in Vegas.

He's left the Jazz team to play for Tunisia in pre-Olympic game against Spain on Friday. He's not likely to land an NBA contract and if he does, it won't pay more than he can make in Europe.

Maybe the Jazz should sign Mike Stockton so the PG's can get some practice guarding lefties!
