Jazz/Lakers/Orlando trade idea

Lakers after Howard but Orlando is luke warm about Bynum and prefer picks. The Jazz have picks so do you do this trade. Jazz would have the best opportunity to sign Bynum as could offer him most money. The scary thing is the weird behavior Bynum has shown the pst 2 years but I would be excited to see BYnum playing next to Favors. Incredible defense up front.
Jazz trade Big Al, rights to GSW pick, Jazz 2013 pick and Evans and get Bynum
Lakers trade Bynum, McRoberts, and World Peace and get Dwight Howard & Turkoglu
Orlando trades Howard and Turkoglu and get Big Al, Evans, world peace, Jazz 2013 pick, 2 future Lakers #1 picks, and rights to the GSW pick.
Jazz lineup:
Pg Williams Watson Tinsley
Sg Hayward Burks Murphy
C Bynum Kanter Favors
PF Favors Millsap (Merji)
SF Williams Hayward Carroll
Look at the length of that starting lineup WOW. This team could be scary good.

I don't think that the Lakers can trade future picks because they already traded some in the Nash deal.

There is no way ever that Bynum comes to Salt Lake. Even if he were traded he would NOT sign here. This is just a pipe dream.

I dislike Bynum's demeanor, spotty health record and inconsistent play. I'd rather trade for Gasol honestly.

Wouldn't touch Bynum with any length of a pole.
That guy is going to have major knee problems soon and his mentality is worse.

Let me get this straight: People are against getting the best center in the league because we might have to give up 2 picks that are likely not going to net us a decent player? Really?
It is likely we get the GSW pick this year in a very weak draft and it will likely be 10-18, same with our own. I say take the chance. Bynum will then have the chance to play for a franchise that will value him, pay him the most and make him the focal point of the offense. He will also see that he has a ton of young studs to grow with, with him as the dominant force.
I say take the chance and if by the trade deadline you don't feel it you can send him off to Houston for a rookie and a pick (say Royce White or Montejunas and a pick).
Risk/Reward is highly in our favor. Giving up Jefferson is a matter of timing... He is gone after this season anyway.
Bynum can be a piece of a championship team... without him we won't be a championship team. I say risk two mediocre picks to build a championship.

Wait, isn't that more like risk a solid 18-10 guy that wants to retire in a Jazz uni + 2 1st rd picks likely in the 10-18 range for the chance to a - deal with Bynum's potential injury & behavior issues this year and b - go through the same will he / won't he resign drama that we deftly avoided with Deron? That feels like very high risk, with moderate to high return only if he resigns in Utah (which he won't), if he stays healthy (who knows) and if he's a positive influence and adds to the chemistry of the Jazz ( probably not..) Way too many if's for me..

If Al Jefferson is traded for Bynum and Bynum doesn't resign, aren't we one of the few teams that has tons of cap space and interest in Jefferson... such that we could resign him in the off season if this effort failed to resign Bynum.

The Jazz jump on this like flies on a fresh cowpie, if:
1) They don't plan on resigning Al (as assumed above); and/or
2) Bynum would extend.

I think that both Orlando and Houston would have cap space as well. Also, bridge might have been burned between Al and Jazz at that point.
I am starting to believe that Jazz are leaning towards resigning Al (assuming big minutes with Favors works favorably first part of season), and only resigning Sap if they can get a deal on him (unlikely), and moving forward with young core in addition to Marvill and Mo if they work out as hoped. Could be a mid-tier playoff team, but probably not more.

I cant believe re-signing Big Al is a concern. He is a throw in to make salaries match. People Big Al is a crap basketball player. The Jazz would be a better team if they amnesty the guy. The Jazz win at least one playoff game if he doesnt play versus the Spurs. Getting rid of Big Al is addition by substraction. He is a terrible defender probably the worst pick and roll defender in the league but is a good scorer that shoots under 50% and doesnt go to the line. A bad passer as well. Give a bad player like Jeremy Evans Big Al's minutes and his number of shots per game and you might not see much difference int he stats except Evans will have more blocks and steals.
Letting Mo Williams leave is one of KOC biggest mistakes but trading for Big Al and 14 mil a year contract was simply stupid and minnesota realized that and were happy to get rid of him.

Yeah, I will agree at this point that giving up 2 picks for Jefferson was a little too much considering that they were off putting the salary they no longer wanted.

No player who averages a double-double logging as many minutes as Al does is a "crap" player. And if you honestly believe that Jeremy Evans can replace Al's production I need you to join my fantasy basketball league. I've got some trades you may be interested in.
