Bold Predictions for the Jazz Next Year
I want to hear some bold predictions regarding the Jazz next season. I'll start:
Derrick Favors will average 9+ rebounds and Paul Millsap will finish the season in Utah (That's one prediction).

The Jazz battle for home court throughout much of the year before fading to somewhere around the 7-8 spot in the final weeks of the season.

If I made a prediction that made sense it wouldn't be bold.

Al Jefferson gets an extension and Paul Millsap doesn't. I guess the second is already confirmed, but...whatever....

Millsap, Bell, Tinsley + #2 pick this year traded for another power forward and a decent younger point guard!

Re: Bold Predictions for the Jazz Next Year
Jazz go to the Western Conference Finals.
Here is how, very easily explained. The Spurs are good enough to win it all but not for an extended period. They will win their first two playoff series but then get tired and loss to the Jazz. This will happen for the Jazz going to the finals as long as the Jazz's match up isn't with the Lakers the second round. They can beat OKC (currently rely on their bench too much, which won't win it in the playoffs) and the Spurs. Jazz play the Lakers in the finals.

It won them plenty last year.

They were tied for the best record in the league, and they looked good in the playoffs against us and the Clippers. But OKC rolled them over. They would have struggled against any real contender in a playoff series, and nghedman points out the reasons why.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

At some point after the All-star break the Jazz will be within striking distance of winning the division.

Corbin will play Foye, Mo, Millsap, and Jefferson a ton of minutes while Favors, Kanter, Burks, and Hayward shine the pines with their asses.

We want something bold, not what's likely to happen.

Reread the post. OKC is who we were talking about, not San Antonio.

Burks will be the first man off the bench by Christmas.

I'll bet he starts the last 20 games and Hayward gets moved to a sixth man role (with starter's minutes). I think Williams-Burks-Williams is a back-court with nice balance, as-is Foye-Hayward-Carrol. Each one has a great mixture of shooting and defense....
