With College Football and NFL season coming upon up I think a OT thread is warranted. Lets stay nice, but most things are open here.

Don't think either BYU or Utah finish the season with the QB's they start the season with.

Oh, and hi Soul Patch, how's things?

Hi I'm country. I went to high school in Utah and currently work here. Was born in Seattle (not so country, my screen name is a nickname a friend of mine called Millsap) so have a love/hate relationship with the players/organization in OKC, love the Jazz obviously, went to Michigan State for undergrad so am obsessed with college football and basketball (but also root for the U in FB, and thus against BYU).

I love elite defense in any sport, which remains my biggest criticism of these past few Jazz teams. Hopefully favors can change that a bit.

And the U is gonna crush BYU, who you kiddin'?

I am DelaneyRudd, and I have a lot of posts.

Anyways, my home town is Salt Lake City Utah, via Sandy, Utah and various places in Wisconsin. I love the Utah Jazz, Utah Utes and Green Bay Packers. These are the teams I hold true obedience to. I also have good feelings for Real Salt Lake, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Minnesota Twins, the LA Kings and the Minnesota Wild. I hate the BYU Cougars, Minnesota Vikings, LA Lakers and USC Trojans.

I currently live in Los Angeles and love it. I live in a very close proximity of my job so that makes it easy to love this massive metro,. If anyone lives on the LA Westside and wants to find a place to watch Jazz games with full volume I would love to coordinate.'

I am here because a certain Mr. Patch inspired me, and I hope he will soon have the opportunity to join me. He's a lot younger than me so there's no rush but I know he is a kid who can make it big.

I also know the Utes will beat BYU fairly easily this Football season. It's not that the Cougs are bad. They are just not at that level. The Utes are filtering up position players who weren't on the radar yet, but still using the same underdog recruiting system. That's not to say the Coug's aren't hungry young fellows. I think the talent favors the Utes and if they lose its a huge upset. You are the younger bro now. If you want to be bro's. It doesn't matter to me.

If there are Westside Jazz fans let me know. More so Utes, since Ute Games will be way easier to be shown around town than Jazz games.

Nice jobs by the Utes and Cougars tonight. Utes did what they needed and Cougars made a statement.

Wow, how quickly the Pac 12 gets to ones head! You are part of the elite conferences now so you can be "east/west coast" bias now eh? So what exactly level are you on?....nevermind :D

BYU is better than Utah, how is broken wing Winn going get past the tough linebackers of Provo?; but I guess, let the smack begin, it is going to be fun with this last rivalry game. It's just unfortunate that Utah had to be chickens to play the cougars... ahhhhhhh they will come back once they end up never getting to a bowl anymore and need the cougars on their schedule to "beef it up". Its just going to be sad for Utah when they lose a home game to their rivals and have to think about it for a few years until the next game. ;)

Yeah.... too chicken to play. Don't worry, Utah State waited patiently for the opportunity to get spanked by the Utes. I'm sure the Cougars can too. There's only so much of them to go around for everyone.

This isnt the last rivalry game. They have agreed to a game in Provo for 2013. Then the rivalry will take a break for 2 years and resume in 2016 at Rice-Chex Stadium.

As far as BYU vs. Utah goes....its still too early to tell. Utah played a High School team and BYU played a team that has less wins in the last 4 years than BYU had last year alone. Lets see how they both play this week, al be it, BYU now has a chump team and Utah plays a team in Utah State that is pretty equal talent wise to Wash. St.
Obviously both teams have their weakeness on the offensive side of the ball. I think it is going to be a defensive battle. Both teams have very stout defenses that will be hard to run on. Neither BYU or Utah has a real dominant QB starting for them, so it will ultimately come down to who makes the least mistakes. BYU's Offensive Line will have a huge task trying to contain Star L. and the rest of the Utah D-Line, and Utah is going to have to try to find a way to keep the BYU LB's (specifically KVN) from reeking havoc in the backfield. I think we will see a real battle at RES this year, with my prediction(and prefered result) BYU ultimately pulling out the win. BYU has a huge chip on the shoulder after last years debacle. Utah has the attitude that they are "too big" for the rivalry anymore. Either way, it should be a fun game to watch.

With White and Murphy, the Utes have more play makers than BYU on the offensive side of the ball, and regardless of how improved BYU's defense is, it isn't anywhere near the Utes.

We don't really know much of anything about these two teams yet. I'm not very confident about the Utes beating the Cougars. There are just too many question marks with Wynn and the kicking game for me to feel comfortable.
