Sixers fan here. Obviously you guys are stacked with Big men and was wondering what you guys would be interested on Philly's roster (Not named Jrue/Turner/Bynum) for a Milsap swap as its not likely he will be resigned next season.

Ummmm....no one. Turner or Jrue would be interesting additions, but outside of that your roster isn't too appealing (obviously Bynum is off the table). We have players we could sweeten the pot with, but it's a bit hard when the players you're looking to trade is expiring.

I think it's likely Millsap will be re-signed.

I would do it for thad. He's exactly what we want millsap to be which is solid backup that bring hustle and energy off the bench. Plus thad can play the 3 and the 4, also the 2 to an extent. Really good potential sixth man.
Problem with Millsap is that he will refuse to come off the bench and it would be too hard for either young big to outplay him since he's much more experienced. Can't justify #3 picks coming off the bench for too long, something has to give.

Yea that's what I'm saying im on the east coast never watch you guys during the season and know Favors NEEDS to start. He put in some serious work in the playoffs..doesn't kill me that we picked Turner over him now that we have Bynum. And Kanter is a big body who can potentially be a really good starter as well.
I love Thad we just have a logjam at the 4 as well. Spencer Hawes is starting out the season, we have Lavoy Allen as a defensive specialist and just drafted Moultrie. It's tough for us to slide Thad to the 3 for stretches because of Turners inability to shoot from the outside playing alongside a tweener 3. The guy was our heart and soul next to Iguodala..flat out hustles his tail off. Not a great defender but always puts in effort and plays solid team D. A match up nightmare inside, next to a defensive stallworth like Favors he'd be perfect for you guys off the bench.

He costs way more than he's worth, though.

Its not that bad when you consider the market for players of his caliber. He could pay 28 -30 mpg for us as a back up at least, he's only 24 and he's a more than capable starter at the 3 or 4 if needed.
I mean sure we can hope to get better value for players but how likely is that when guys like george hill are making 8 mil/yr. Plus remember last time KOC had tons of cap room, he outbidded himself for Okur and Boozer so who knows what might happen.

I wouldn't be horrified if it happened, I'm just disappointed at his development. He had so much potential to be a star player and I don't think he'll ever reach that because of the way he has been utilized.

We have a person of starter value as our backup.

How highly the Jazz organization rates him.

I'm one of the biggest Thaddeus Young fans out there but I don't think I would do Sap for Thad straight up. Unless the plan is to have Young as your future 3 and Hayward as your future 2 and Burks as your 6th man, there is no reason to make the move. Thad is getting paid a good chunk of money too... dunno if he's worth that much.
Bottom line though, if you're not willing to part with Turner or Jrue then there is no deal to be made. In fact, we'd really only want Jrue. I love Turner but we have Burks and Hayward as future wing players.

Well, he's going to be unrestricted and he's likely to get a good offer elsewhere. I have no doubt Utah wants to bring him back, but I wouldn't call it likely. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him take an offer to play somewhere else.

I think the Jazz will keep Millsap. No reason to trade him. He's as good of a soldier as he is a player.
Some of you seem hellbent on convincing everyone that Sap'll complain McGrady-style when he's benched, but I think his grumblings during the times that he has been benched have been nominal. I think he'll take it like a pro and still be fine if the Jazz match an offer he happens to get.
Jefferson is the one that isn't going to last with the Jazz.

There is no chance Millsap re-signs with Utah to come off the bench. He's gonna get paid by someone to be their starting 4. He's unrestricted, so Utah doesn't have the luxury of just matching an offer. Sap is gonna have to want to stay. Even if Utah wants to overpay, he could even take a lesser offer if he thinks the grass may be greener. There will definately be teams throwing some money at him, and it's quite possible there may be a situation he considers more favorable.

I think the Marvin Williams deal was made to protect against Millsap not resigning, and to be the starting SF.
I expect PM will not want to come off the bench, even though that would make the Jazz a better team. I hope he will come off the bench and if he does, I think he would be the sixth man award winner.
