Saw this on the Nets board. I know he is not on our team anymore, but I am still going to follow Deron's career.
@BrooklynNets: .@deronwilliams, diagnosed with left ankle synovitis (inflamed tissue), received injection today and will miss 2 days of practice.
I read the thread on the Nets board discussing this and one of them said he remembers Deron saying he thought his ankle issue might be chronic. I don't remember Deron having ankle issues, do you guys? I only remember his wrist.

He's getting older. Those things will happen. I don't think it will affect him terribly.

Deron had ankle problems while with the Jazz. He'd sprain it slightly and be out for a couple of games here and there.

He had a semi-serious ankle injury at one point and made a remark about how he thought it was never going to get back to 100% normal. Looks like he was right... I remember being really bummed out when it happened too because he was just getting super athletic... like getting up and really posterizing guys athletic. I remember before he hurt it, in the open scrimmage he went up and almost threw one down on Millsap that would've been something close to what Westbrook or Rose can do... but then he rolled it and he's never gotten that kind of explosiveness back.

First Preseason game of Rose's career, Deron came down on top of Rose's foot. It was bad. I wouldnt be surprised if there was long-term damage done there...

Ahhh yes. I was trying to remember exactly when and how he did it... yes, that was the way and the time. I hated Rose the first two seasons of his career because of that.

I read an article in which they admitted he may require surgery for it. All of this sure makes our trade look better though.
